The Footwear Designer will integrate their thorough understanding of Fashion Trends, Market Conditions, Consumer Expectations, Technologies and the Manufacturing Process with their design excellence to develop the next generations of Skechers footwear products under the direction and leadership of the VP of Product Development and Merchandising. They will influence the respective footwear categories using cultural events knowledge and experience relating to how the current and upcoming Fashion Trends might impact the consumers' buying decisions, covering a vast demographic and multi-cultural area. In addition, they'll use their knowledge in respect to Design, Development and Market Relevance to collaborate with Marketing and Sales personnel on projects to maximize effectiveness and sale-ability.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Under the direction of the VP of Product Development and Merchandising, design and develop innovative and cost-efficient brand and market relevant footwear which includes concepting, story-telling, and technical development.Partner with cross functional partners in the creation of line plans, briefs and final product solutions aligned with business goals, consumer needs (style and function), and brand stories.Deliver on-time product solutions in conjunction with the product calendar and business needs ensuring that all deadlines, line plans, and deliverables are met.Study and research current and future trends, maintain expert knowledge in global design trends, market competition, and retail landscape. Conduct on and off-site to bring new ideas to the brand.Proficient in the creation of tech packs and outsole blueprints, including cross sections.Partner with developers in US and Asia on line schedules, adhere to the product calendar, ensuring development projects are on track.Responsible for getting prototypes and samples executed to reflect the tech pack.Periodic travel to Asia to for product development.Special projects as assigned.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to sketch shoes accurately and proportionately & provide detailed specifications.Must understand the footwear production process at the factory level.Must have advanced skills in Photoshop/Illustrator.Must have great communication/presentation skills and work well with others.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Preferably a bachelor's degree in Footwear, Fashion, or Graphic DesignerShould have a minimum of 2 years of progressive, shoe designing experience and knowledge of shoe constructions and materials.

The pay range for this position is $90,000-$110,000
