The Director will develop collaborative partnerships with the cross-functional Insmed team (Medical Affairs, HEOR, Clinical Development, Advocacy, Commercial and Market Access) as well as external medical experts and will have an integral role in driving the planning and execution of scientific communications deliverables across the Insmed respiratory franchise. This role will lead the development and maintenance of scientific platforms and the strategic execution of aligned scientific communications deliverables to ensure a global approach that accurately and consistently communicates about Insmed disease areas of interest and Insmed generated data. As the lead for global congress strategy in their assigned therapeutic area, the Director will lead cross-functional plans for key congresses to drive cohesive and meaningful communications to diverse audiences. Title will be determined upon evaluation of credentials and experience.

Lead the development and maintenance of Scientific Platforms, Scientific Narrative Lexicon, and the Insmed Medical Communications plan for the assigned therapeutic area(s) and product(s) within the respiratory franchiseLead the creation and execution of the global medical communication strategy and education plan, including congress strategy, symposia, field medical tools and resources, medical backgrounders and other scientific programs that communicate important information to the medical and scientific community, including identification and prioritization of regional and local education needsReview scientific materials (e.g. slide presentations for content and positioning) and represent content during medical, legal, regulatory reviewWith Medical Excellence, lead training of Medical Affairs teams on new materials and upcoming educational activitiesEnsure delivery of high-quality, fair-balanced, scientifically/clinically accurate medical communications deliverables in accordance with established timelines, compliance guidelines/policies, and budgetsEnsure deliverables are in alignment with business strategy, medical affairs strategy and Insmed clinical development programsManage external vendors/medical agencies assisting with medical content planning and executionPosition Requirements:

Masters degree in a scientific discipline, advanced degree preferred (PhD, PharmD or MD)A minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, primarily in Medical Affairs publications function is requiredExpert knowledge of relevant guidance including, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) guidelines, CME Open Payments reportingMinimum 5 years experience demonstrated success in design and implementation of Medical Communication Strategies including oversight to gap analyses, congress strategies, scientific content development, digital asset generation, and scientific platform development and maintenance.Expertise in the assessment and the application of scientific/clinical data to strategy with pull through to externally facing deliverablesAbility to interpret and organize highly complex scientific data including reviewing pre-clinical and clinical trial data and output from statistical analysesDemonstrated experience in leadership role in designing scientific communications strategy in alignment with corporate strategyExperience working closely with external experts and authorsDemonstrated experience managing competing priorities and tight deadlinesExperience in Orphan or Rare Disease areas, prior launch experience, and/or experience in pulmonary medicine or infectious disease preferredAbility to manage external vendors and provide clear, concise directionExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical data to internal and external stakeholdersHighly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and concisenessDemonstrated ability to work effectively within collaborative and cross-functional teamsMust successfully exhibit Insmeds five (5) core corporate values of: Collaboration, Accountability, Passion, Respect & Integrity, along with any other position specific competenciesIndividuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace

Travel Requirements:Up to 15% travelSalary Range:Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidates education, training, and experience as well as the positions scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.

The base salary range for this job is from $179,000.00 to $250,800.00 per year
