Job Summary:
This position supervises the network and telecommunications staff and oversees the network and telecommunications infrastructure by planning and implementing network policies and configurations for the college's information network and related equipment.
Job Duties:
Responsible for developing recommended policies for network use and security and ensuring the implementation of configurations and technologies to adhere with college policy . Create and maintain documentation of all network resources including wiring diagrams. Oversees and manages planning and designs of all network and telecommunications infrastructure. Oversees and manages installation of network and telecommunications equipment and low voltage cable plant. Provides vendor oversight for network related projects. Manages Network projects from beginning to completion. Research, recommend, install, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair network equipment, firewalls, and application/implementation of emerging technologies related to the institution's networks. Supervises network and telecommunications staff. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of industry specific experience OR Associate's Degree and 6 years of industry specific experience.Minimum experience to include managing local and wide area computer networks, experience maintaining an enterprise firewall solution, experience designing and engineering solutions in an enterprise network, administration and maintenance of VoIP telecommunications solutions, and supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cisco or HPE Aruba network experience.Successful completion of either a Cisco or network related certificate program.Experience maintaining an enterprise firewall solution.Experience with Cisco WebEx Calling and Unified Communications.Experience with HPE Aruba wireless networks.Higher education experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert knowledge and ability in all aspects of managing local and wide area networks including wireless networks, VPN site to site and remote VPN access, as well as all layers of the OSI Reference model.Expert knowledge of protocols utilized in the college's network such as TCP/IP, DHCP, FTP, TFTP, STP, VTP, ARP, OSPF, SNMP and SMTP.Expert knowledge of VoIP technologies and experience implementing VoIP systems in a large deployment environment.General knowledge and ability to implement protocols and practices necessary to maintain the security of the college's information infrastructure via the network.Excellent network trouble isolation and resolution skills utilizing common network tools and applications.Available for on call support for after hours network problems that affect the ability to access to 24x7 applications.Available for network reconfigurations after hours or weekends to minimize impact on the college's activities during peak traffic times.Ability to diagnose computer related problems by utilizing industry best practices trouble-shooting techniques, technical manuals, diagnostic information, and analytical skills.Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Pay Rate:
$68,434 - $85,542 annual salary depending on experience
