Creative Arts Specialist

General Purpose:

This position is responsible for the design and implementation of art programming specific to this resident population and interests. Provide for changes in resident circumstances by adapting the creative art experience to offer continuity and ongoing benefit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

:

Demonstrates the ability to plan, coordinate, schedule and directly provide creative art services and events such as art shows and workshops.Works in conjunction with the Judson Manor Teams, Directors of Community Life and Director of Volunteer Services to establish a standard for the number and type of programs that will take place for IL/AL residents on a weekly basis.Able to work well with members in all levels of care and residents with a variety of functional/cognitive capabilities.Seeks input for program scheduling and enhancement of art studio and classes.Collaborate with creative art specialist at the Park or other local artists to create new programming.Demonstrates the ability to analyze program offerings in terms of participation levels, needs/desires of residents, cost/benefit and use the data to take the appropriate steps to enhance or modify programs.Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by monitoring the approved yearly budget and processing AP Vouchers to assure that providers of service are paid in a timely fashion.Interested in professional improvement through appropriate workshops, seminars.Responsible for goal setting, monitoring and status review with the Director as needed.Ability to travel between the three campuses (Judson Manor, Judson Park, and South Franklin Circle).

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications

:

Master’s Degree, art therapy or art education and relevant education required

Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Database programs and internet

Must be able to work occasional weekends or evenings

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands require that an individual be physically fit. The individual must have the enthusiasm, stamina and strength to work on their feet, assist members with wheelchairs, walkers, canes. Must be able to manage the equipment necessary to provide a wide array of programs.
