Adjoin us!The Creative Arts Coordinator acts to develop and facilitate a creative arts studio developed by Adjoin to build and strengthen the I/DD artist community of the Imperial Valley. The Creative Arts Coordinator will develop a series of monthly enrichment experiences for participants of the program and facilitate their execution. The Creative Arts Coordinator will enhance the artistic skill set of their participants and encourage an environment of continuous learning through arts resource procurement, demonstration and facilitated learning, inspiration, encouragement, and constructive feedback related to mixed mediums of artistic expression and execution onsite. The Creative Arts Coordinator will use trauma-informed knowledge to create a safe environment that respects the individual experiences of all of its participants. The Creative Arts Coordinator will exemplify Adjoin's vision and meet standards of quality, safety, satisfaction, and goals of the client to optimize quality of life and independence.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Coordinate and execute a daily routine of arts education and facilitation with the support of direct support professionals at a ratio of 1:4.• Promote the development of art by its program participants by procuring raw materials and a variety of artistic media to support the vision and goals of the participants.• Develop and execute monthly, community-based arts-focused events for program participants.• Collaborate with area artists to bring meaningful learning opportunities into the art space on a regular basis and provide additional education and insight into art education, presentation, and technique.• Facilitate the development of client art from inception to finished product and assist with pricing and sale of artwork at the Adjoin Creative Arts Store.• Implement individual training and support programs under the direction of the case responsible person.• Maintain positive communications and relationships with his/her supervisor, clients, landlords, involved family members, Regional Center, and other community members.• Participate in the evaluation of the client through completion of requested assessment devices.• Document required activity records, reports, incidents, and client evaluations in a timely, complete, and accurate manner as required.• Provide positive advocacy to ensure the individual's preferences, needs or talents are considered and respected.• Oversee client activities and environment throughout shift to ensure the fulfillment of health and safety needs.• Assist with training employees to perform their direct service duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of Adjoin.• Prepare and maintain current staffing schedules and coordinate new staff training schedules.• Monitor and report to case responsible person on client and employee activities.• Complete CSPs, monthly/quarterly reports, evaluations, intakes, and assessments under the direction of the case responsible person.• Review activity logs of clients and report significant events or concerns to case responsible person.• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Pay: 24.50/hr.

Job Type: Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older.• High School Diploma or Equivalent.• Bachelors in Fine Arts, Education or related field and/or 3+ years of creative arts and/or teaching experience.• Ability to develop a varied daily curriculum of site-based art facilitation, arts education, and community-based art experience.• Ability to assist in the management of a program and store associated with Adjoin Creative Arts Program.• Aptitude for confidentiality, organizational skills and good interpersonal skills.• Certification in an approved First Aid and CPR class; or successful completion within 45 days of date of hire.• Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition, and proof of current CA driver's license.• Adjoin's client case management platform requires employees to utilize a mobile smart device with reliable Internet connectivity and data to complete certain essential job tasks. Position Requirements:



Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a min of 20% of the time.• The Creative Arts Coordinator works as scheduled by the Program Manager and/or his/her designee. This position is full-time and may occasionally require overtime as dictated by operational needs; however, no holiday or overtime hours may be worked without prior approval of the CAC's supervisor.• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.• Acceptable DMV record

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Some of our clients are physically impaired and require assistance in and out of wheelchairs and other assistive devices. The Creative Arts Coordinator must be able to perform such tasks on an urgent or emergency basis. Many of the jobs/activities in which our clients engage require physical exertion on the part of the Adjoin staff person (i.e., walking (75% of workday), climbing stairs (10% workday but on a frequent basis), lifting (10% of workday but on a frequent basis), stretching, bending, etc.). A Creative Arts Coordinator must have the ability to talk, hear, and see in order to assist the client in his/her quest for independence.The Creative Arts Coordinator is responsible for the safety and well-being of a disabled client they are providing service for. Must be able to react appropriately and quickly in the event of an emergency such as client elopement, a natural disaster, fire or other unforeseen circumstance. An appropriate reaction might be having to follow or help the client evacuate in the event of a fire or emergency which may involve ascending or descending of stairs, walking a significant distance, or being able to summon emergency responders.Appropriate and professional dress is expected.The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Potential exposure to noisy environments at job sites. Exposure to blood borne pathogens could occur. (Hepatitis B vaccines are offered to all employees at no cost to the employee.)The Creative Arts Coordinator must be capable of making on-site visits to clients. Often these on-site visits are at a distance from the office and no regular means of public transportation exists. Overnight travel is rare but may be required for training and as part of a participant's program. The Creative Arts Coordinator is expected to perform duties assigned during hours needed to meet client needs, which means that the schedule may include evenings, weekends, holidays or other non-typical work hours.
