CREATIVE ARTS COORDINATOR Job Description

Job Title: Creative Arts Coordinator

Department: Camp Ohiyesa

FLSA Status: Stipend

Status: Seasonal

Reports to: Program Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Creative Arts Director is responsible for all phases of arts and crafts programming at camp. Individual must develop integrated arts program which will stimulate the creative and manual dexterity of every camper while utilizing the specific camp themes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

:

Plan, develop, and instruct the total Arts & Crafts program of Camp Ohiyesa centered on creative and group oriented projects.Prepare a list of supplies and materials needed for Arts & Crafts program for submission to Camp Director before opening of camp.Attend all staff training, workdays, and follow all requirements of the position as stated in work rules and regulations.Coordinate Arts & Crafts program with other camp activities.Prepare an Arts & Crafts area to include displays that stimulate interest and act as teaching aids.Submit complete report at end of summer of inventory of equipment, narrative of program, evaluation of staff, and recommendations for future improvement.Carry out other duties as deemed necessary by camp/program director to assure success of program.QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years old.Possess standard First Aid and CPR certifications.Must have a varied background and experience in camping, arts & crafts, and working with children.Should have general understanding of YMCA and the goals and objectives of YMCA camping.Should have expressed desire to work with children.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
