GENERAL FUNCTION:

Under the direct supervision of the Camp Director, the Multimedia Specialist will be responsible for taking media side of camp including pictures and videos. Food and lodging is provided during the resident care of campers and/or program delivery. The staff at all times is representative of the philosophy, mission and goals of the YMCA and its Camping Program. Staff must strive to work cooperatively with the Camp Director and fellow employees to achieve the goals and objectives of the YMCA.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

The Multimedia Specialist is responsible for capturing moments that define Camp Grady Spruce through pictures and videos. Their job is to help define what happens at camp and what camp means through multimedia. They will assist in going around camp throughout the day to take pictures and videos. They will make sure all participants are recognized and included. They will be responsible for uploading the pictures of the day at the beginning of the following day.

Will take responsibility for the proper use, care and storage of all camp equipment. Will maintain a neat appearance; wearing an appropriate staff shirt during opening and closing day. Will attend all staff training, in-services and meetings. Will read and review Camp Staff Manual. Responsible for following all policy and guidelines. All camp staff will at all times have the opportunity to meet with the Camp Director and/or Program Director to discuss any problems, needs or concerns he/she may have.

Each week they will create a camp video/slideshow that captures the unique spirit of that session. Other members of staff will be able to assist in acquiring photos and videos, but the responsibility lies with the Multimedia Specialist. They will be responsible for uploading the session video at the end of the week.

Will assist in ad staff duties including, but not limited to: Developing evening programs, overseeing staff and campers, assisting during meal times, assisting during chapel times, keeping the rest of ad staff updated on day-to-day events, evaluating staff, and working with the Program Director to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone who comes to Camp Grady Spruce. All ad staff must work one weekend.

KNOW-HOW:

Minimum age of 20 years old.

Supervisory skills.

Experience in photography and videography.

Experience with computers and technology.

Experience in creating videos.

Experience working with children.

CPR Certification, Basic First Aid.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in camping or recreation or retail.

Will be alert to potential dangers and hazards; assess and take necessary action.

Needs a valid Driver's License.

Will be able to pick-up and carry a child weighing up to 50 pounds in an emergency and initiate first aid procedures.

Will be able to problem solve as needed.

All staff will treat all staff and campers with equal respect.

Pay Rate:

$55/day
