Salary Range : Up to $42,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours : up to 40 hours per week, non-exempt.

Job Summary

Function: Administratively coordinate programs and projects within the department.

Scope: Responsible for assisting the Athletic Bands (marching and pep bands) to operate smoothly.

Core ResponsibilitiesUses initiative and independent judgment in the application of administrative matters and accompanying decisions pertaining to assigned programs and projects.Acts as a liaison with other departments and agencies to coordinate safety, transportation, repairs, building services, and game/event logistics.Maintains and monitors all instrumental equipment and uniform inventory.Prepares and processes various electronic accounting documents with regard to Athletic Band purchasing, travel, and contracts.Provides direction and training to Athletic Band staff and volunteers as needed.Coordinates auxiliary events related to indoor drumline and pom/twirl squad.Serves on committees and engages in other appropriate activities to develop Athletic Band presence within the university as assigned.Assists School of Music staff as needed with events and other duties as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or military band experience.Two (2) years of general administrative experience.Additional education may substitute for the required experience up to a Master's degree.Participation in an ensemble at the collegiate level or in a military band.Experience with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Music or related field.Supervisory experience.Experience with marching band instruction.Familiarity with the operations of athletic bands at the collegiate level, including basic instrument repair.Additional InformationUTSA is a tobacco free campus.This is a security sensitive position. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.Valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as applicable.Working Conditions

Standard indoor office conditions, as well as outdoor rehearsal conditions.Flexible schedule required to attend rehearsals, sectionals, and games during peak seasons.Physical Demands:

Climbing of stairs.Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.Lifting and moving objects.May work in extreme temperatures.

This position will be primarily located

on campus . Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
