Description
Hello Portland Metro Local Designers! We are located in downtown Milwaukie, Oregon and are looking for a graphic/multimedia designer with a unique skill set who can help us expand our product packaging, product design, digital marketing, and multimedia deliverables.
The type of work this position may encounter include:
Social media, website, and other digital marketing materialsPackaging design for statues, figures, bookends, puzzles, glassware, prints, enamel pins, etc.Graphics, posters, postcards, and promotional itemsSell sheets, sales kits, cover flats, catalogs, and catalog pagesProduct photography including photo editing and knockoutsPhoto illustration for 3-D mockups, product comps, and environmentsMotion GraphicsVideography including video and sound editingDesign pages for trade publicationsProduct designProject ManagementUI PrototypingThe ideal candidate will be an able learner and meet the following expectations:
Demonstrates the ability to multitask, works efficiently and strategically under tight deadlinesDemonstrates strong communication and organization skillsWorks well in a team environment and/or trusted to work independentlyDemonstrates great design sense, craft, and concept abilities, with fine-polished detailsYou are inquisitive and comfortable asking questionsDetail oriented, organized, and a critical thinkerAbility to partner gracefully with diverse project managers under demanding schedulesTakes direction well and in a spirit of collaborationEnjoys pop culture, a commercial-focused environment, and Dark Horse itselfThe work we do can be specialized, unique, and not always taught in design school. We are interested in candidates who are excited about the technical and craft details of showcasing entertainment and pop culture products. Please create a curated sample packet that showcases your experience with product marketing pieces, even if it is school work. Examples to include: Social media ads still and with animation; Banner ads; After Effect examples; Product photography-even if it is your own packaging photography work. Work should highlight lighting, color correction, and post production work; Non-templated 3D mock-up/modeling work, example, a 3D mockup of a product in "space" and/or 3D renderings of spaces; Product videography with or without sound editing. If you have experience with typography, typographic illustration skills (like logotypes or decorated typography), multiple-page document layout, print advertising layout, and package design we would love to see that work too. In addition, sharing three pieces of work that show creativity, ingenuity, and "who you are" will help us get a sense of your passions and strengths outside of the standard portfolio. Whether you are a seasoned designer looking for a new team or a new designer fresh from your design program, we are looking for a designer who is the right fit and excited about the work we do. Requirements
You have the ability to regularly demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and/or education:
Strong layout, color, and typographic skillKnowledge of design styles, both historic and currentBasic understanding of marketing and branding conceptsKnowledge of proper file management and setting up files for print and digital mediumsFamiliar with procedures, quality control, and file setup of 4-color processAssociates in Graphic Design and/or similar certificates/experience or demonstrated success in relevant professional fieldsMinimum 2 years' experience in the design fieldMust be fluent in current versions of Adobe suite including Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After EffectsProficiency in XD or FigmaProficiency in video camera operation, product staging and lighting, and video editing using Premiere or Final Cut Pro XProficiency in still camera operation, product staging and lighting, photo correction and editingProficiency in developing graphics, illustrations, videos, gifs, and other creative materials for web, social, and other digital platformsProficiency in 3D modeling using Blender and/or SurfaceProper file storage and organization, knowledge of current web and mobile asset standardsMust have the ability to multitask, adapt to changing technology, work under tight deadlines, organize, problem-solve, prioritize, and communicate opinions and concernsWe are a Mac and Adobe CC environment, with Google Workspace and Microsoft basics. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, Monday through Friday, hourly position.
Salary Description
$55,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
