Position Summary

Samsung Electronics is transforming the TV landscape through its Connected TV platform, enabling consumers to engage in video content experiences like never before and allowing content providers to reach consumers directly in their living rooms. With unmatched global reach, Samsung represents the premier OTT platform in the world.Samsung has developed a proprietary ad platform that leverages the unique first party data from the Smart TV Platform to help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets and our Smart TVs.The Manager, Business Development will be the face of Samsung to some of our most important partners. This position will require ownership of the negotiation and contracting process, driving business projects from beginning to end, ownership of key operational work streams, and developing a well-thought-out perspective on industry trends and market opportunities. This role will report into the Director of Business Development, Ad Platforms and will work both internally and with partners, on critical deals to drive Samsung's Ads business forward.The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, as well as a strong analytical mind and the ability to navigate a large organization. While managing the day-to-day partner relationships, the candidate will need to be able to see the big picture while remaining detail oriented. This candidate will be self-motivated, and solutions-focused with an ability to unravel internal complexity, navigate the organization, and come to a quick understanding of the business. The position will also require excellent project management, and presentation skills.

Role and Responsibilities

Develop highly effective, deep relationships with key Ads partnersOwn deal relationships with a focus on growth activitiesLead and project manage complex contract relationships and deal frameworksWork closely with partners, Legal, and Privacy to redline agreements and facilitate the contracting processNegotiate and execute legal agreements with key partners including, but not limited to MSAs, SOWs, amendments, and renewalsWork cross-functionally across business development, product, operations, finance, sales, and other areas of the organization to develop and execute business strategyDrive thinking on key business metrics for partnerships, taking responsibility for mobilizing partners and internal resources to execute and meet objectivesPrepare strategy documents, quarterly business reviews, and executive presentationsMaintain and communicate project milestones effectively and anticipate potential risks or challengesProvide thought leadership on platform and business strategyConduct ROI modeling to drive internal alignment and progress successful negotiationsSkills and Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS required5+ years of relevant experience working in a business development and partner management capacity in the advertising ecosystemAbility to deal with ambiguity, solve complex problems, and navigate large, global organizationsPassionate about technology and new media trendsStrong deal making experienceSelf-motivated, assertive, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentOperational experience managing complex partnershipsExperience interpreting multifaceted contracts and interfacing with legal teamsMastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are a mustDiagnostic mindset, with ability to process data rapidly to come to right business conclusionsDemonstrated ability to thrive while managing multiple projects and deadlines

Salary Range Pay Transparency:

Compensation for this role, for candidates based in NYC, is expected to be between $120,000 and $160,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
