Candidates who live near CB officeshave the option of being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday inoffice)Type: This is a full-time positionAbout the TeamThe Advanced Placement Content and Assessment Publications team supportsCollege Board in serving more than seven million students a year as theyprepare for a successful transition to college through programs and servicesin college readiness and college success - specifically through the AdvancedPlacement (AP) Program. With more than 38 courses in a variety of subjectareas, we are committed to promoting innovation, equity, and excellencefor generations of students.The AP Content and Assessment Publications team develops a variety ofpublications from course descriptions to practice exams for teachers of theforty AP subject areas (comprising curricula in mathematics, arts,English, science, world languages, and social sciences) and resourcesrelated to the development of new AP courses. We are a close-knit, dedicatedteam with a track record of success in producing products and publications fora variety of audiences, including students, parents, educators, memberorganizations and staff.About the OpportunityAs the Director, Product Development and Editorial, you will guide thelaunch of new and revised AP courses by shaping and managing various productsand publications (e.g., Course and Exam Descriptions, Lab Manuals,Practice Exams). You will guide the content creation conducted by other teammembers, vendors and/or consultants as needed. You are a driving force inthe team's efforts to meet deadlines and refine processes. You will ensurethat AP Program policies, processes, information, and resources arecommunicated clearly, accurately, and consistently.In this role, you will:Content Development and Management 50%:Manage and collaborate with Program Staff and Subject Matter Experts on thecreation and development of new and revised curriculum and assessment productsand publications for select AP classesImplement and adhere to processes and timetables, editorial guides,review and quality control protocols, and other standards needed to ensureuniform and high-quality product development and deliveryProvide guidance on design and formatting of publications as needed;previous experience using Adobe InDesign is strongly preferred.Develop standards and enforce consistency in instructional practice,structure, design and terminologyProject Management 50%:Work with other teams across the AP division in developing requirements andresources to ensure alignmentEnsure all products are fair, bias-free, and in alignment with AP Courseand Exam Descriptions (CEDs) and other relevant documents and standardsAssist in a variety of program management tasks related to AP publicationsand communications, including tracking and monitoring program publicationbudgets; coordinating program components with otherdepartments/divisions/consultants; preparing reports and recommendingadjustments in policies and procedures, and supporting efforts tocontinuously improve communications planning, content development, andproduction and distribution processesAbout YouYou have:Minimum of four years effective and relevant work experience in publishingin an editorial or design capacityExperience in managing content across multiple channels (print and digitalmedia) preferredExperience in the development of curricula or instructional materialsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational, time and task management skills and the ability tomove forward multiple projects in concert while meeting timelines, bothindependently and as a member of the teamAdept problem-solving skills, including u ing data to inform decisions andactionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitatingmeetings and presenting remotely and in-personBachelor's degree in Communications, Publishing, English or related field
