Location: Herkimer, NY Category: Non-Teaching Posted On: Tue Jun 25 2024 Job Description:Herkimer College seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, 10-month Librarian for Public Services and Archives.The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting the Director in reference, interlibrary loan and bibliographic instruction/library orientation and assisting the Director in the general administration of the Library.MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES:+ Coordinate reference services for students, faculty, staff and community users.+ Provide direct reference/research services- live, via e-mail, via chat, via 24/7 chat, as part of regular reference duties.+ Coordinates reference services statistics.+ Assist with supervision of student workers.+ Schedules instruction for faculty and visiting community groups (such as high school, College NOW, P-Tech or other special interest groups.+ Teaches information literacy sessions in coordination with faculty for their classes.+ Provides library orientation to Freshman Seminar classes.+ Participates in Orientation.+ Provides Interlibrary Loan Services.+ Assist in providing material needed for research by students and faculty.+ Assist in collection development.+ Instruction Statistics.+ Coordinates the creation and maintenance of the Research Guides.+ Maintain, catalog, physically organize, and digitize library archives.Job Requirements:MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:Masters Degree in Library Science, academic Library and reference experience preferred,Interlibrary loan, bibliographic instruction and archival experience desirable.Additional Information:The current salary range for this 10-month position is $36,675 - $55,015, based on qualifications and experience.
