Music Teacher (General) K-4Global Concepts Charter School1001 Ridge RoadLackawanna , NY 14218Certified - Teaching - Music Teacher {MUS}Job Number 3300047953Start DateOpen Date 06/25/2024Closing DatePlease make sure to complete an application atnyric.org/applicationfor this job posting.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:+ Plans, prepares and delivers highly engaging music curriculum aligned with NYS arts standards for small group lessons.+ Evaluates each pupil's musical growth, performance, and musical understanding using assessment data to inform and differentiate instruction.+ Collaborates with administration, colleagues, and music staff to support continuity in enrollment and continuation of the program.+ Establishes and upholds school wide routines, protocols, and standards of student behavior to provide a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.+ Uses relevant technology to support instruction.+ Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned musical instruments, sheet music, books, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse.+ Oversees initiation of instrument repairs, as needed.+ Maintains frequent communication with students, students' families, colleagues, and other school stakeholders.+ Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in helping students solve health, behavioral, and learning problems.+ Work with diverse populations, including English language learners and students with special needs.+ Instruct with sensitivity to different learning styles and a commitment to the success of all children.Successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:*Strong classroom management skills for large group rehearsals.*Ability to demonstrate and perform with proper vocal technique.*Piano skills to accompany choruses in rehearsal.*Motivation to engage in continuous professional development.*Creative ideas to motivate students in K-8 general music classes*Teach in a K-8 setting according to New York State Education Department Learning Standards and building-developed curricula.Requirements:*Valid New York State Certification in Music*Bachelor and/or Master degree with major in musicJob Attachment View AttachmentItinerant Location 1001 RIdge Rd.
