The Kenmore Tonawanda School District is looking to hire a probationary music teacher for the 2024-25 school year to teach K-4 general music and 4th grade chorus at Holmes Elementary.Essential Characteristics+ A valid New York State teaching certificate in Music K-12+ Demonstrated successful classroom experience at the elementary level (K - 4)+ Demonstrate ability to conduct a 4th grade chorus+ Demonstrate skills on Uke, Piano, Recorder, hand drumming and Orff instruments+ Demonstrate excellent aural acuity+ Has a firm belief in the potential of all students+ Demonstrate ability to implement reliable classroom management strategies+ Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively and effectively with staff members, colleagues, administration, parents, and community groups.+ Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students at a variety of ability levels+ Demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to detail and organization+ Ability to reflect on teaching - allowing for growth+ Demonstrated willingness to contribute within and outside the department for school community and extracurricular events (school musical, chaperon, school events, etc.)+ Possess knowledge of the NYS Music Learning Standards+ Active in professional organizations, e.g. NAfME, NYSSMA and ECMEA+ Continued professional development, e.g. workshops, clinics, coursesPosition Start Date:08/27/2024Application Deadline:07/11/2024
