Our project includes studies in plasma science, surface and material science, electrical and RF engineering, all collaborating to push the boundaries of technology. We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic R&D team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer with expertise in the design, assembly, and testing of high vacuum chambers and mechanical components. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CAD (SolidWorks), troubleshooting vacuum and electrical issues, and hands-on work with a variety of components and systems. This role involves close collaboration with our interdisciplinary team to brainstorm, design, build, and validate innovative plasma systems from concept through feasibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop high vacuum chambers and mechanical components using CAD software (SolidWorks).Assemble, build, and test mechanical components and equipment.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to vacuum systems, electrical controls, valves, vacuum gauges, flow meters, and other control systems.Integrate hardware with electrical and electronic test equipment, power components, and pneumatic systems.Collaborate with plasma scientists, surface and material scientists, and electrical and RF engineers to innovate and develop plasma systems.Participate in brainstorming sessions to conceptualize new designs and solutions.Validate the feasibility of designs through rigorous testing and analysis.Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with mechanical design experience, or a related field.Proven experience in high vacuum chamber design and mechanical component design.Proficiency in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.Strong hands-on skills in assembling, building, and testing mechanical and electrical components.Experience with troubleshooting vacuum and electrical systems, including the use of test tools and equipment.Knowledge of valves, vacuum gauges, flow meters, control systems, electrical interfacing, and pneumatic components.Ability to work collaboratively in an R&D lab environment.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a research and development setting.Familiarity with plasma systems and related technologies.
