POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for improving online presence, engaging the community, and promoting local events and initiatives. This role enhances website content, social media, and email newsletters to ensure that messages reach and resonate with residents. The Digital Marketing Specialist will leverage their knowledge of digital communications and multimedia tools to develop and implement marketing strategies that align with departmental goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESDevelop and implement digital marketing strategies to promote municipal initiatives, events, and services.Serve as the web administrator for events, ensuring content is current, accurate, and engaging.Create, schedule, and monitor social media posts across various platforms to engage with the community.Effectively promote community activities and special events by creating compelling graphics and event campaigns.To foster open dialogue, create events on social platforms, and engage in public outreach on event platforms, forums, and groups.Monitor and respond to online inquiries from the community.Collaborate with the communications team to create email marketing campaigns, including newsletters and event promotions.Generate analytic reporting and presentations to submit for assessment and collaborate to increase reach, engagement, and accessibility.Assist in organizing the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and ensure the quality and searchability of the content.Optimize content for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and reach.Meet website accessibility requirements and exceed standards.Collaborate with the communications team to create cohesive and impactful campaigns.Stay updated on marketing trends and tools to improve strategies and tactics continuously.Ensure compliance with City of Hutto branding guidelines and standards.Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma

Two (2) years of related experience.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required.

Valid Texas Driver License.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Psychology or English

Two (2) years experience in website management

Bilingual (English/Spanish) : The ability to speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position is primarily sedentary, requiring an individual to sit at a desk for long periods of time, working on a computer. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, walk, see, hear and work in indoor and outdoor conditions. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. The role involves interacting with clients/customers and occasional indoor activities.
