Service Writer / Admin (Material Handling)

Position Overview

There is nothing in our inventory as valuable as the associates who carry our reputation into the marketplace. With the training we provide, the Service Writer helps Arnold to keep that standing.

Essential Job FunctionsActing as a liaison between the customer and dealershipPromoting and ensuring customer satisfaction by assisting with the enhancement of labor and parts salesWriting up, monitoring, reviewing and assisting of job closingGreet walk-in customers and take customer callsAccurately determine if machine warranty applies. Advise customers of warranty status prior to performing any service. If unable to determine status due to lack of information, inform the customer that the job will be charged as revenue until information identifies it as warrantyReview the work schedule daily with the Service Manager to update work-in-progress (WIP) priorities, segments, parts deliveries and completion deadlinesWorks with Service Manager to ensure that repairs are performed within the labor hours quoted or estimated to customerOn jobs where written authorization is not obtained prior to dispatch of mechanic, follow up with Service Manager that the mechanic obtains a signature of the customer's representative prior to start of jobProcess time cards for technicians and maintain service reportsAssist Parts Manager with ordering parts, maintaining inventory control, and restocking as requiredFill in at parts counter with customer orders when necessary to maintain professional and timely response for parts inquiriesAssist Sales department with paperwork including financial documents, machine orders, etc.Non-essential Job Functions

Assure that service personnel adhere to safety, housekeeping and other company policies and procedures with the assistance of Service ManagerCompare the final invoice with the service proposal. Verify that work accomplished is to customer's expectationsAssist the Service Manager with the administration of the Service DepartmentKeeps the Service Manager currently informed on all matters of managerial importanceAssist the parts manager with administration of parts departmentOther Skills/Abilities Desired

Candidate with an ambitious and proactive attitude, and strong work ethicDetail oriented with an ability to solve problems with little direct supervisionProficiency with Microsoft Excel & WordGood mathematical proficiencyPhysical Demands and Working Conditions:
