Hardwired with the SpringHill mission of empowerment, The Robot Company is a brand consultancy. At its core, it is programmed to support our partners through advertising and marketing that spans campaigns, content, social, public relations, and physical and virtual experiences. The Robot Company is based in New York City, with requirements to be onsite twice a week (Mondays and Wednesdays) per the Company's policy.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The SpringHill Company is seeking a dynamic

Design Director

to join the team at our brand consultancy, Robot. The successful candidate is culturally involved, strategically minded, and can think both conceptually and visually to further enhance Robot design elements. In this role, the candidate will lead design conception and create compelling on-brand graphics across a variety of mediums including digital, TV, print, and apparel. You will collaborate closely with our team of Creative Directors, Strategists, Art Directors, Designers, and Writers to concept, design and execute culturally relevant works that resonate with our creative vision. The candidate will lead brainstorming, conception, and design execution across Robot brand properties and partner brands. Success in this role requires a culturally connected self-starter with impeccable craft, strong time management skills, and experience mentoring mid and junior level designers. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a high level of taste and aesthetic sense.

REPORTS TO:

SVP, Creative

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Creative Director to lead visual design and scalable creative concepting across a variety of projects including: brand logos, guidelines, and toolkits; TV graphic packages; digital and social media content; print and packaging; merchandise; and presentationsCollaborate with Art directors conceptualizing design work at the highest levelCreate design systems that have a strong conceptual foundationEnsure that the design thinking applied to arrive at a solution is translated and communicated throughout different teams by following a strong process that all team members can understandExhibit leadership in communicating design thinking. Be informed and transmit design trends that contribute to improve and be at the top of the design game for all the company businessesEnsure brand guidelines and strict quality standards are consistent throughout all design workResearch, prepare, and present ideas to creative team, internal stakeholders, and external brand partnersPrepare design files for delivery, ensuring all deliverables are on time and carefully exported to output specificationsSupport project team in understanding opportunities and limitations in media limitations as it pertains to designWork dynamically with project team to identify design needs, inform timelines, and input on resourcingEnforce the integrity of the design process, and ensure that all work meets a high level of creativity, innovation and brand associationParticipate in team brainstorms and creative team pin-upsHelp to grow the creative team by mentoring junior/senior designers, providing guidance and feedbackKeep up with the latest cultural and industry trends and best practices in designFoster a positive relationship with the creative communityResearch, recommend and support team in outreach to creative partners and CollaboratorsQualifications

Bachelor's degree or art school degree10+ years of relevant work experienceExceptional visual design and graphic skills.A portfolio of recent design work is required for considerationExperience in digital and print designAbility to multitask and handle several creative projects simultaneouslyCritical thinking, creative problem solving, and excellent communication skills are a mustAbility to lead client presentations and meetings, and drive overall design for branded projectsProactive, team player with the ability to work in a fast paced work environmentCan easily adapt to new challenges and think out of the boxMust have experience leading teams in a creative studio, or in the worlds of marketing, entertainment, music, art, fashion or sports industriesFluent in Adobe creative tools, Google Slides, and Keynote

$175,000 - $190,000 a year
