A 1/2 time Social Media and PR Coordinator is needed for an employer in Provo, UT.
Job Summary
Support the arts and communications students at BYU! Come manage our social media team in a PR agency university setting. We are looking for an organized, self-driven individual to coordinate campaign strategy, work with clients and manage the External Relations social media team for the College of Fine Arts and Communications.
* Essential Functions: *
Coordination
Assist with coordination between internal and external academic unitsManage student employees in the External Relations OfficeWork with Assistant dean to pitch ideas to University Communications
Social Media Management
Assist and manage the student social media teamManage campaigns like Faith+Works, Arts@BYU, #ExperienceCFAC and moreSupport growth, content and strategy of college social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram (Threads) and X (Twitter)Create analytics reportsCollaborate with External Relations teams
Communications Support
Hiring and recruiting
Assist with branding, managing and messaging within the college
Education/Experience/Skills
Minimum required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experienceAbility to work with people at all levels of an organizationDemonstrated social media management and analytics skillsHistory of meeting deadlinesExcellent time managementStrong attention to detailAbility to supervise student employeesWell-developed organizational, communication and writing skillsAbility to work well with others and feel comfortable speaking in front of a groupProficient in database and spreadsheet software use (Word and Excel)
Preferred:
Bachelor's degreeKnowledge of AP styleLeadership experienceKnowledge of email newsletter programs, specifically MailChimpExperience with project management systems such as Basecamp or SlackExperience using Adobe programs, such as Premiere Pro
Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
T he award-winning College of Fine Arts and Communications External Relations team writes all of the event press releases, assists in marketing production, creates and supports all websites, works on campaigns relating to the college and university and assists the college dean. The team also manages and oversees the college's social media pages, as well as the School of Communications, Department of Dance, Department of Theatre and Media Arts and the School of Music social media accounts.
