Position Overview:
The Expediter will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials and products from suppliers, coordinating with various departments to maintain efficient inventory levels, and resolving any issues that may delay shipments. This role is crucial for supporting our operations and ensuring our customers receive their orders on time.Key Responsibilities:Track orders from the point of origin to delivery, ensuring shipments progress as scheduled.Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers to confirm order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve any issues.Liaise with internal departments such as purchasing, production, and logistics to synchronize schedules and prioritize urgent orders.Identify potential delays or issues in the supply chain and take proactive measures to mitigate them.Address discrepancies in orders, such as missing or damaged items, and arrange for replacements or refunds.Maintain accurate records of all orders, shipments, and communications.Prepare regular reports on order status, delivery times, and issues encountered for management review.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable and timely delivery of materials.Negotiate with suppliers to expedite orders when necessary and improve delivery times.Analyze the supply chain process to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.Implement best practices and new technologies to enhance efficiency and reliability of the supply chain.Qualifications:Prior experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field, preferably in industrial distribution.Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, but will also consider equivalent industry experience.Knowledge of industrial distribution products, particularly steel and alloy pipe flanges, long weld necks, butt weld fittings, forged fittings, valves, and pipe.Proficiency with supply chain management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with inventory management systems and expediting processes in a similar industry.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple orders and deadlines simultaneously.Problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues.Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order tracking and documentation.
