SummaryUnder the supervision of the Creative Project Lead, this individual develops and directs visual solutions and creative design concepts to convey a message, which meets the communication needs of MMA Southwest and our clients, using a variety of graphic design software. Responsibilities include managing and deploying MMA’s branding guidelines and assets, as well as supporting other regional marketing and communications effort projects in a creative capacity. The Graphic Designer will stay informed of design trends and technology, MMA’s national MarComm strategy, as well as drive design innovation in MMA’s Southwest region while working within MMA’s brand guidelines.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for creating, maintaining and communicating corporate brand standards for the firm’s various namesakes, products and servicesResponsible for assisting the Creative Project Lead, with educating and coordinating implementation of brand standards across all MMA Southwest regional entitiesResponsible for visual conceptualization, graphic design, and production of various marketing collateral.

Selects appropriate medium and styles taking into consideration budget, time constraints and production requirements.Work with executive leadership, the sales team, and other MMA colleagues to discuss their needs, visually interpret their ideas or content, and propose creative solutions to produce an attractive product.Keep informed of developments in graphic design software and understand when to utilize different programs required for each project.Ensure external and internal communications are consistent with brand identity.

Lead the creation and production of all graphic design materials, including but not limited to:

Advertisements, both print and digitalMarketing collateralInternal and external event projects, including presentations, invitations, collateral, and signageTradeshow exhibits and sponsorship signagePresentation graphicsDigital elements for newsletters and other digital projectsInternal communications support, such as executive leadership initiatives, culture initiatives, and an internal magazine

Responsible for managing all aspects of print production and ordering, as well as managing relationships with print vendors to ensure print expectations and deliverables are met.Education and/or ExperienceSuccessful candidate will be an outgoing, creative, detail-oriented individual with high personal standards and a hands-on work style. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working at a varying pace, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, adjusting priorities often, and managing frequent interruptions.This position interacts with and provides service to a large group of internal colleagues and has high levels of contact with external vendors and other internal departments. The Graphic Designer must be positive and approachable, and work effectively with diverse personalities. In addition, the following is required:

Must have the verbal, written, quantitative and interpersonal skills normally acquired through the pursuit of or completion of a bachelor’s degree. BA/BS degree in graphic design, visual communications, or marketing is preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience in graphic design, composition, color theory and typography is required. Corporate graphic design and brand guideline experience is preferred.High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), PowerPoint, Word, HTML capabilities.Must provide a creative portfolio or examples of relevant brand design work.Experience in effectively utilizing a collaborative project management system.Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications with the ability to operate standard office equipment.Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and present results neatly, with clarity and precision in oral and written form.Demonstrated ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range timelines according to department priorities.Strong portfolio of individual and collaborative work.Strong customer service skills, positive attitude and ability to work well with clients and internal teams.Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines. Self-motivated and quality oriented.Ability to function under multiple deadlines to achieve individual and department goals.Work Environment & Physical DemandsAbility to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods.10% travel may be required.
