*This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ in Beaverton, OR. In-office expectation is 3 days a week*.ABOUT THE POSITIONAs a Product Graphic Design II for Apparel and Accessories at Columbia Sportswear, you will design industry leading graphics for accessories including ballcap trims and head wear art using storytelling and graphic design skills. A passion for graphic design combined with strong trend and design concepts, presentation skills, calendar awareness and a collaborative mindset will allow you hands-on involvement in graphic development which supports seasonal accessories and equipment initiatives and go to market strategies. In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage with cross functional partners in apparel, surface and color design, production, merchandising, and manufacturing, and gain experience, skills and increased knowledge of Columbia design ethos, culture, products, and process. Understanding of fishing and hunting are a priority when designing for our Performance Fishing and Hunting assortments.HOWYOU'LLMAKE A DIFFERENCEResearch global graphic and headwear market trends and interpret target consumer needs for the outdoor marketplace, including hiking, fishing, and hunting. Participates in pre-season design discussion of seasonal trend application and cross functional collaboration. Understands our target consumer.

Create apparel, ballcap and headwear graphics that are industry leading, trend and outdoor focused that consistently incorporates powerful storytelling, emotional connectivity, and relevance. Graphics can also be applied to apparel.

Ability to apply and perform graphic design skills including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing and scale through hand sketches and computer software that reflect Columbia design ethos.

Work with cross category design teams to provide design and concept boards to communicate seasonal concepts. Strong communication of the graphic category vision for seasonal trend, and graphic direction.

Develop and maintain open lines of communication with partners in design, merchandising, production, and product development. Be an active participant in team meetings, staff meetings, etc. as needed to ensure strong communication on all design, process and product related issues. Good communicator who takes responsibility for improving interpersonal and listening skills.

Collaborate with apparel, accessories, surface, and color design as well as merchandiser, production artist and developer to procure critical design information related to the development requirements of the artwork.

Work with color designer to apply seasonal colors to category graphics and manage pre-production assets of color.

Support process discipline and manage time expertly for graphic projects to ensure effective and efficient transfer of information at key gates and dates.

Responsible for pre-production graphic art delivered to trims design through strong organization, accuracy, and efficient transfer of information.

Support design leadership on seasonal strategies and execution as needed.

Supports department training as directed.

YOUHAVEBachelor's degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience specializing in appeal and accessories graphic design, textile design or related field.

Two to four years' experience in apparel and accessories graphic design.

Experience in the outdoor industry and apparel, headwear/ballcaps.

Understanding of fishing and hunting techniques which can be emulated in graphic art.

Strong knowledge of trends, illustrations and graphic design concepts and execution.

Design skills expressed through hand sketches and Adobe software. Solid knowledge of graphic applications, screen printing, ballcap patches, sublimation, and color separation techniques.

High proficiency with MAC environment and the Adobe Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Strong color aptitude.

Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills as this role will interface with several cross-functional teams.

Assists in the coordination of information to ensure ongoing collaboration and program execution. Support and leads in process optimization and seeks out efficiencies.

Understands key business partner functions, including design and development processes, merchandising procedures, materials, and production techniques and has high-level knowledge of the product creation process.

Ability to self-manage and operate independently and with discretion. Ability to work effectively under pressure.
