Summary

The Vice President of Marketing & Communications (VP) is responsible for developing and managing the implementation of all marketing, communications, and brand strategies to achieve LSS business objectives. This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for overall brand stewardship, communications, marketing, and business insights for LSS. The incumbent will work with leadership to develop, refine, and execute marketing communications strategy as well as crisis communications and reputation management.

The VP will be responsible for increasing LSS visibility and thought leadership consistent with our mission, vision, and goals established in the strategic framework. The VP leads the central team of marketing and communications professionals and provides strategic direction for other departments to ensure key priorities are communicated and embraced by the organization.

Essential Functions

Develops strategy and oversees the implementation of marketing and communications for the overall organization as well as each LSS life plan community, service line, and/or appropriate corporate department or program (i.e. individual business units)

Stewards the LSS brand, including maintaining consistency in design and messaging, and oversees implementation through multiple channels to position LSS as the "organization of choice" for potential residents/clients, employees, job applicants, and donors

Develops crisis communications plans/protocol and oversees implementation, including internal communications, media relations, and serves as the LSS spokesperson

Works with the Corporate Director of Revenue Enhancement and other Leadership team members to determine target audiences, message platforms and recommend lead generation strategies including advertising, direct mail, marketing automation, networking, and outreach to drive revenue growth

Plans, directs and coordinate marketing budgets in accordance with organizational goals, including consulting with leaders on setting annual budgets for each individual business unit's marketing collaterals, advertising, events, and related promotions

Oversees market research to understand market trends/changing consumer preferences and data analysis to inform messaging and determine the effectiveness of campaigns to make adjustments in strategies as needed to ensure outcomes are met

Evaluates new marketing/advertising opportunities and makes recommendations for implementation and budget adjustments as necessary

Manages the marketing, communications and creative teams in the development and production of all marketing and communications materials

Oversees the development of messaging concepts and the writing of creative briefs to provide direction to creative team when developing marketing and communications projects

Prioritizes, initiates, and tracks the development and production of marketing and communications materials to achieve established outcomes and metrics

Leads strategic partnerships and collaborations with external agencies, vendors and influencers to amplify brand reach and awareness, including working with internal project coordinator to obtain bids, evaluate, and negotiating pricing

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in marketing or business

-10+ years of prior experience in marketing and communications positions of increasing responsibility including leadership roles; Experience in senior housing, including all levels of living, preferred

-Excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills

-Self-motivated to work independently and as a team member; Demonstrated experience leading and inspiring teams

-Strong working knowledge of design, brand development, creative and production processes, and crisis/media communications

-In addition to the above minimum qualifications, this position will also possess demonstrated skills and ability to effectively present information to executive team, board of directors, business partners, media, staff members, and public groups; deal effectively with personnel, residents, customers, and the general public, create and oversee implementation of strategies, programs, goals objectives, policies, and procedures.

A well-lighted and ventilated working area that has temperature control system (air conditioning and heat). The work will have some short notice requests, timelines for completion of tasks or reports and some major projects extending over months. The employee will experience frequent travel by car with occasional overnight stays. Some exposure to outside weather conditions in the course of travel. Minimal exposure to infectious diseases and blood borne pathogens. Minimal exposure to chemicals and hazardous waste.
