OverviewUnder limited supervision, manages personnel and directs the daily activities of the marketing department. Responsible for the credit union’s brand, image, marketing, digital banking, communications, creative services, and public relations. Develops a comprehensive marketing program designed to achieve the credit union’s mission, vision and strategic business plan. Provides input and direction on the strategic direction of the credit union. This position is a member of the Leadership Team.

Responsibilities• Leads the strategic development of BluPeak’s brand image, integrated marketing plans, and creative services to attract and retain new members. Conducts competitive market research, advises on strategic marketing positioning, identifies and recommends best practices, and oversees the creation of products, merchandising, pricing, promotions, and internal communications to achieve goals and meet member needs.• Develops and executes strategic business plans, budgets, and tactics supporting all departments and team members to achieve credit union goals and profitability. Monitors outcomes and provides course correction as needed.• Manages member relations leads and directs process improvement initiatives to assist in achieving critical measures.• Ensures compliance with established security, consultative service skills, operations, regulatory compliance, audit, and certification/recordkeeping policies, procedures, and practices. Supervises departmental workflows, maintains internal operating efficiencies, and processes.• Develops both short-term and long-term strategies and business plans for digital channels. Maintains an understanding of emerging industry and technology trends to guide the application of remote technology solutions. Evaluates the effectiveness of digital channels, ensuring the member experience—encompassing design, content, navigation, architecture, branding, performance, and functionality—meets organizational standards.• Oversees all aspects of digital channels, including digital banking platforms, member/account/loan origination platforms, telephone banking, ATMs, digital wallets, and real-time payments. Assesses the effectiveness of these channels in delivering user-friendly experiences, leads large, multi-disciplinary, and complex projects for digital channels, and enhances functionality by identifying, scoping, and integrating operational processes and member activities into digital platforms. Leads technical and software development efforts to transform the user experience and increase adoption of digital channels, utilizing data to analyze member trends and develop plans to effectively meet changing member needs.• Participates in community-related activities to promote the credit union and seeks out networking opportunities within the community to enhance the credit union's visibility and engagement.• Ensures the development of reports to assist with evaluating marketing campaign results, project status updates, competitive analysis, and business forecasts.• Remains up-to-date and complies with regulatory requirements and credit union policies and procedures.

• Hires, trains, manages, and coaches direct reports and department managers to ensure proficiency in all phases of their respective jobs and responsibilities to achieve goals and objectives. Assures professional development of direct reports, assists managers with personnel issues, performance evaluations, training, coaching, disciplinary actions, terminations, and development programs for employee retention.

• Provide guidance and motivate others to work well together in accomplishing the team’s purpose and objectives. Ensures goals are well understood and creates a collaborative environment. Fosters an environment of trust where the team feels recognized, valued, engaged, motivated, inspired and thrives.

QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in a Marking and/or related field required plus a minimum of 5 years’ Management experience in marketing and digital banking is required. 5 years experience with marketing strategies, digital services, online, web-platforms and ecommerce technologies, inclusive of advertising and public relations is required. Experience within a financial institution is a plus.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to travel occasionally as needed. To perform this job, the employee must possess strong interpersonal skills, good communication etiquette, a professional presentation, and a high degree of personal initiative. Must be able to assist with branch operations to work occasional nights or weekends at SEG or at community functions.

• Ability to interface with all levels of management and staff, and external contacts and vendors within the course of routine activities. Must possess sound employee management skills and be especially adept at communicating effectively and persuasively across departmental lines. Requires a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to a changing regulatory landscape.

• Must be organized, self-disciplined and detail-oriented with the ability to manage and juggle multiple projects. Persistent and dependable, especially in meeting deadlines; able to manage multiple competing priorities. This position requires the employee to work during regular business hours and occasional nights or weekends as needed to meet established department deadlines.

Must be able to work hybird remote from our Corporate Office in San Diego, CA.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages directly up to 6 direct reports. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training managers as needed; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY

• To perform this job, the employee must possess applicable technology skills and demonstrated expertise. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, as well as the ability to learn new applications quickly; requires general knowledge of network and database BluPeak.
