As the full-time Social Media & Marketing Coordinator, you will work in collaboration with a strong team of 74 staff and over 350 volunteers to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for thousands of animals every year. The Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will proactively manage KHS's social media, web, and email communications and marketing. The position reports to the Director of Marketing and works closely with the Graphic Design and Marketing Coordinator and the events, fundraising, and shelter teams.

Founded in 1908 and located in Silverdale, Washington, Kitsap Humane Society (KHS) serves Kitsap County and beyond as more than a shelter. Our mission is to provide positive, life-changing solutions for people and animals in need. We are committed to upholding an open admissions policy for stray pets, while maintaining an extensive adoption program, a low euthanasia rate, and excellence in our services.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a strong writer, editor, and communicator with solid photography, videography, video editing, and social media experience across various platforms. (Work samples required.)

• Able to generate progressive, engaging content for marketing/communications needs involving events, vet services, shelter operations, fundraising, and the capital campaign.

• Will create email newsletters and e-blasts and coordinate/develop digital content across platforms, including website, organic, and paid social media.

• Has a keen awareness of social media strategy, trends, and metrics.

• Assists with evaluating results of communications strategies and tactics.

• Expands awareness of Kitsap Humane Society, its services and programs, and its lifesaving mission in thoughtful, fun, and engaging means.

• Manages ongoing marketing sponsorships and partnerships.

• A team player able to work collaboratively and productively with volunteers, media, leadership team, and KHS staff to share the shelter's story and develop thoughtful, informative, progressive, and impactful content.

• Displays positivity, friendliness, tact, and sound judgment in interactions with staff, volunteers, and the public.

• Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends.

• Interest and ability to work with shelter animals.

• Experience with MS Word, Excel, Constant Contact, WordPress, Hootsuite, TikTok, Facebook Business & Ads Manager, and various digital and social media platforms.
