This position will oversee and monitor the entire grant cycle process, including tracking and reporting back to funders on their impact of Newport Mental Health's mission. Grant proposals should be concise and compelling while meeting proposal requirements, supporting ease of evaluation, and effectively conveying strategy and messaging themes. This role will work in tandem with the Grant Writer & Reports Manager, already on the Philanthropy Team.The ideal candidate will utilize prior experience in federal/state, foundation, and corporate giving to build relationships with key stakeholders to increase overall grant and sponsorship revenues. The successful candidate will demonstrate comfort reaching out to potential grant funders and working with program officers as well as collaborating with internal department directors regarding their financial and programmatic needs for the projects funded through NMH's portfolioResearch new funding opportunities thoroughly, internally communicating potential funding sources.Prepare federal and state grants, foundation and corporate proposals, and large-scale gift asks/agreements for individual donors, ensuring proposals are compelling to each funder.Thoughtfully prepare grant proposals by determining program needs, proactively researching, collecting, formatting information, writing drafts, obtaining approvals, and submitting for funding.Identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as lead the full grant lifecycle to execution of persuasive proposals to federal and state, large foundation, and corporate funders.Determine proposal concept by developing and maintaining a clear understanding of organizational structure, opportunities, financial needs, objectives, and intended impact.Provide support and follow up with conversations and overall communications with funding agencies regarding Newport Mental Health's mission, services, and product offerings.Provide strategic oversight and management of NMH's entire grant portfolio of 50+ grants each year by purposefully delegating workload among grant writing team.Personally manage preparation, submission, and back-end reporting of approximately 20-25 grants each year.Build and maintain strong relationships with grant funders, foundation program officers, and corporate partners to ensure longevity of support for NMH's mission.Build strong internal relationships and engage in productive and collaborative conversations that range from Executives and Administrators to the Clinical staff.Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.Attend trainings and meetings as assigned.Adhere to safety policies including participation in fire/disaster drills.WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU...Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. A flexible writing style with an ability to tailor content and style to communicate effectively with individual constituents is essential.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to manage multiple projects at once under tight deadlines with successful outcomes.Ability to cultivate strong interpersonal donor and coworker relationships at all levels of organization.Preferred experience level is 5 years minimum of federal/state grant writing, including a demonstrated track record of progressively more complex submissions and overall success rate.Experience with nonprofit grant writing and/or corporate giving programs is strongly preferred.A track record of commitment to professional development is preferred.General experience with fundraising/development, event planning, or equivalent training/education experience is a welcome bonus.Knowledge of healthcare, or associated industries, is appreciated.APPLY NOWSubmitting your application is a great way to learn more about Newport Mental Health.
