OBJECTIVE : The Graphic Design and Training Coordinator will serve in the Work and Learn Center to enthusiastically motivate students, in addition to actively supervising the business and students participating in the Work and Learn Center Social Enterprise. This position provides young adult learners, ages 16-24, with appropriate learning activities and experiences in an engaging atmosphere designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and social growth. The Graphic Design and Training Coordinator is expected to help students develop competencies and basic skills by creating a digital portfolio, website development and design projects to support and prepare students in obtaining their Adobe Illustrator Certification. The Graphic Design and Training Coordinator is also expected to collaborate with the community, clients, and students to find meaningful opportunities in support of the students as well as the Work and Learn Center. The Graphic Design and Training Coordinator will supervise and manage the Social Enterprise Youth Ambassador (SEYA program's day-to-day, and facilitate additional supportive programs as needed such as the carer readiness program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Required: Bachelor's degreeMinimum: 4 years of graphic design experience.Preferred: 3 years previous teaching experience.Required: Advanced knowledge of design curriculum and Adobe Illustrator.Required: Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva Pro, and basic web development software.Required: Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva Pro, and basic web development software.Required: Proficient knowledge of small business operations, marketing, branding and social media management.General knowledge of design curriculum and instruction.Ability to instruct students ages 16-24 and positively influence their behavior.Strong organizational, oral and written communication, and people skills.Experience in the graphic design field with various software including Adobe products.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

:

Teaches, enhances, develops and implements curriculum to support students in obtaining an Adobe Illustrator Certification after the completion of course.Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the program. Shows written evidence of preparation as required.Presents subject matter according to guidelines established.Remains up to date on the latest graphic design methods, trends, and technology.Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.Works with other staff to determine program goals, objectives, and methods according to program requirements.Uses technology proficiently to strengthen the learning process.Uses effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly to students, clients, and the community.Participates in professional development activities to improve job-related skills.Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents required in a timely manner.Supervises the graphic design social enterprise and works with students and clients in business responsibilities at the Work and Learn CenterManages the day-to-day operations of the Work and Learn Center Social Enterprise.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Frequent speaking and listening, reading, writing, and using computers. Ability to lift and move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
