Associate Designer

Research new design ideas, textiles and seasonal concepts for men's and women's collections including wovens, knitwear, and accessories, and home collectionsCreate CADs and help build design boards for each collection and capsuleWork with Senior Designer and Creative Director on collection concepts and seasonal line plan and capsule collectionsUpdate CADs & BOMs after Senior Design/CD approval meetings and produce recapsHelp manage fittings, take notes and update tech packsCreate detailed tech-packs and communicate artwork needs to Art DepartmentLiaise between Design, Product Developer and Art Department to achieve printer ready artworks, intarsias and other application techniquesUpdate and keep organized various binders for fabrics/CADs/fit notes/trims/artworkWork with Product Development team to source new textiles, yarns, trims, vendorsReview and give comments on lab dips, trim, artwork submitsRegularly correspond with Sales/Production/ Technical Design teams to ensure cross departmental buy-inWork with Tech Designer, Senior Designer and Product team to create 1st prototypes through to SMS sample and Pre-Production hand-offTrack all samples through to SMS and make sure development calendar is followed and on targetReports to the Senior DesignerREQUIREMENTS5+ years in an associate designer positionFluent in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, hand-sketchingKnowledge of technical design and pattern-makingKnowledge of knitwear (fully fashion and cut and sew) required *
