Contemporary Sr. Designer (Soft Wovens)

Contemporary Sr. Designer (Soft wovens)• Work closely with the Design Director to sketch/plan designs based on the seasonal direction• Research and create prototypes/techniques/embroideries/trims• Work with factories and/or local vendors to develop new techniques/treatments/shapes and follow through from proto to SMS to meet the calendar deadlines• Problem-solving with PD to hit target costs while maintaining design integrity• Sketch and work on tech packs for in-house pattern makers and domestic/import factories• Follow designs from initial fitting with the Pattern Maker to final sample approval• Research and stay current on trends and propose/present new ideas for the collection based on the seasonal direction• Research trends online and stay current with store assortments

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

• Strong problem-solving skills along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects• Must have experience with soft wovens fabrications and dresses, tops, skirt categories• 5+ years min. of experience as a designer• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills• Comprehensive knowledge of garment construction• Must possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail• Experience executing tech packs• Must have excellent Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
