Bayview Hunters Point Foundation is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team.

We are currently seeking a Grant Writer.

Who We Are:Bayview Hunters Point Foundation has been at the heart of social justice for over 50 years, providing support services for predominantly low-income people of color in the Bayview and throughout San Francisco.

Our mission is to build a community that is empowered, clean, safe and healthy.

We are focused on multidisciplinary, community-informed support for our clients, addressing the root causes of unemployment and homelessness, and advocating for the basic human rights of food, health, economic and housing security.

Today, BVHPF's nearly 200 employees serve over 5,000 disadvantaged clients each year.

Our programs include:



Mental health counseling for youth and adults•

School-based mental health services•

Substance abuse counseling and methadone treatment•

Family transitional and supportive housing•

Rapid rehousing and flex pool housing programs•

Case management services at several homeless and housing programs•

Bayview SAFE Navigation Center

Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled grant writer to join our team and help us secure funding for our organization's programs and initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching potential funding opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, and maintaining relationships with funders.

This is a half-time (20 hours/week), exempt position with competitive compensation and benefits, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Mission Officer.

This position may also be structured as an independent contractor, with negotiable hours and compensation.

Required Duties:•

Research potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations•

Develop a grant research, proposal and report tracking system•

Develop and write grant proposals that clearly communicate the organization's mission, goals, and impact•

Collaborate with program staff to gather information for proposals and reports•

Maintain accurate records of all grant proposals, applications, and reports•

Track deadlines and ensure that all grant applications are submitted on time•

Build and maintain positive relationships with funders through regular communication and updates•

Stay current on trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising

Qualifications:•

Minimum of three years demonstrated successful experience in grant writing and fundraising•

Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals and reports•

Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential funding sources and track grant application requirements and deadlines•

Experience working with government agencies, foundations, and corporations•

Familiarity with grant management software and databases•

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy•

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines•

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with funders and internal stakeholders•

Other duties as assigned by the CEO and CMO
