NewsEdge offers our customers a comprehensive, global collection of real-time news and news-derived insights that support a wide array of industries and job functions.In this role, the User Experience Designer will collaborate very closely with product and technology team colleagues to understand business goals and translate them into compelling experiences. The candidate will also collaborate with other product teams across Moody’s to support their integration of news and news-derived insights into contextual workflow experiences.The User Experience Designer will employ a user-centered design methodology throughout the product development process and will work in a collaborative manner, sometimes with multiple design initiatives occurring concurrently.This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our NewsEdge suite of products.Responsibilities:Lead the interaction design of user interfaces for the NewsEdge suite of products.Collaborate with product and technology colleagues to conceptualize and iterate on design solutions and successfully build and implement new features.Simplify complex and large amounts of information into intuitive presentations and interactions through flows, charts, graphs, and other forms of visual representation.Create detailed specifications of interactions and visual designs.Create a pattern library, to maintain consistency in behaviors across multiple products.Create prototypes to validate design concepts with stakeholders and customers.Conduct or participate in user research and usability tests to understand the needs, behaviors and preferences of users and translate findings into actionable recommendations.Support product and technology colleagues with design related questions throughout the product development process.Perform quality assurance reviews of developed pages to ensure adherence to specifications.Stay informed about UX trends, tools and best practices.Qualifications:A detail-oriented individual with a BA/BS degree in Human-Computer Interaction or Fine Arts.

Other non-conventual majors (STEM, Humanities, Communications) or conventual majors (Marketing, Economics, Finance) may apply as well.Applicants should have up to 3 years work experience in UX design or related role, including internships and other academic experiences.Strong background in interaction and visual design and in creating user interfaces that support the needs of the customer. Includes proficiency in sketching, wireframing, designing and mapping user journeys using user-centered design patterns and methodologies.Understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking methodology.Understanding of user research and user research techniques including surveys, interviews, and usability testing.Ability to work collaboratively with a team or independently.Comfort with ambiguity, complexity and a passion for solving problems.Strong communication (oral, written and presentation), organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to work pro-actively on several tasks while managing deadlines.Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma and experience with Material UI.Familiarity with Github, HTML, CSS, etc. preferred.Comfort using office applications, project management, and design solutions such as MS Office Suite, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Miro, etc.Moody’s is an equal opportunity employer.
