Artwork Production Designer III

The Niagara Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team is a broad reaching partner, trusted to provide and build a culture around quality product data management from inception to end-of-life. We employ consistent, end-user focused processes and maintain a secure single source of truth in order to enable efficiency, scalability, and product excellence. The Artwork Production Designer III is responsible for the oversight, administration, and preparation of graphic pre-print production files.

Essential Functions

Communicates with printers, clients, and all levels internally to achieve desired printing effects, including understanding, revising, and editing internal commentary for change to external parties

Offloads/Uploads final art files to print supplier

Administers email and workflow inboxes for artwork

Manages all aspects of assigned customers graphic assets

Verifies consistent, identical state of approved copy through resizings or color revisions

Reviews and approves or rejects physical proofs or mockups for consistency in color and design with customer’s approved files

Determines and communicates to suppliers the best course of action for achieving desired printed packaging solutions

Assures that final mechanical files meet client and printer needs, are complete, and are delivered within tight timelines

Monitors change orders within product record system to assure correctness, adherence to policy, and completeness

Coordinates the artwork change process, minimizing cycle time while assuring that all changes and communications are done correctly and completely

Performs minor retouching/manipulation of images ensuring that projects are created to specification and suitable for release to print vendors for production

Meets with client and internal parties to understand, translate, and develop preprint production needs into workable solutions

Develops knowledge and understanding of industry by continuing education

Create ColorCert Job files to be uploaded to Scorecard by suppliers and review printed samples for quality and retain library

25% - on average travels 1 week out of the month

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

4 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment

4 Years – Experience in Position

2 Years – Experience managing projects

4 Years – Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

2 Years – Experience with Oracle Agile PLM software and ERP systems

*experience may include a combination of work experience and education

Preferred Qualifications:

6 Years– Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment

6 Years – Experience working in Position

4 Years – Experience managing projects

6 Years – Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

Education

Minimum Required:

Associate's Degree (or current course of study leading to an Associate’s Degree or higher) in Graphic Design, Illustration, Publishing, Marketing, or Advertising and other related fields or equivalent experience

Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, Publishing, Marketing, or Advertising
