Description and Requirements
The UX Information Architect will be responsible for the structure and organization of information on lenovo.com to optimize the user experience. This role involves understanding user needs and business goals and defining content and taxonomy requirements to create a logical and intuitive system for users to navigate lenovo.com.
Key Responsibilities:
Foundational Definition of Information Architecture
Develop taxonomy structures, labeling systems, content categorization, and consistent metadata to ensure content findability and usability
Pro-actively review geo sites and establish process for communicating and resolution of IA issues
Customer Journeys
Create user flows, interaction diagrams, and high-level wireframes to show where users interact with site content
Create and maintain site map, displaying and explaining the structure of lenovo.com
Own masthead navigation to improve information organization and user experience
Provide recommendations for product catalog hierarchy management to leverage for dynamic navigational systems
Content Strategy
Collaborate with content creators and stakeholders to organize content that aligns with user needs and business objectives
Develop processes for consistent content creation using standardized methodologies, taxonomies, metadata and labeling
Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams including product and marketing BUs, content creators, product managers, user research, designers and developers to meet business needs and understand user behaviors
Present recommendations to executives, stakeholders and external teams to establish trust for our UX vision
Continuous Improvement
Develop success metrics and monitor analytics data, user feedback, and industry trends to measure improvements in the user experience and to identify opportunities for optimizing the information architecture
Document information architecture decisions, rationale and guidelines to facilitate collaboration and maintain consistency across projects
Accessibility and Usability: Ensure that information architecture meets accessibility standards and usability best practices to accommodate users with diverse needs and preferences
Position Qualifications:
Basic:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience, Design, Computer Science, or related field
12+ years of experience in UX/ eCommerce
Proven experience defining information architecture for a large complex website
Preferred:
Master's degree
Strong understanding of data, both from user testing and analyzing onsite user behavior
Familiarity with user-centered design principles and methodologies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Experience with the agile development process, including JIRA, and taking IA requirements through IT is a plus
Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and usability testing methodologies is a plus
The base salary range budgeted for this position is $145,000- $180,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonuses and/or commissions. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com.
