Management JOB SUMMARYThe Manager, Data Operations - Marketing is a member of the Strategy, Business Intelligence and Data Operations (SBID) organization and an integral part of Marriott’s Marketing Data team.

This individual contributor will be a technical and subject matter expert in digital marketing data with a special focus on paid & owned media marketing initiatives.

This role entails hands-on data analysis & engineering skills to build and manage cross-channel data products supporting analytics & measurement needs such as multi-touch attribution, media mix models and cross-channel reporting.

The Manager will also interact with technical partners on data integration & provide technical support to large-scale Marriott reporting and operational projects; implement system and business process changes to improve data quality; and support departmental initiatives in the areas of data governance, data management, and analytics. The Manager will also be responsible for contributing to the development of our cloud data platform by setting requirements and consulting on future platform initiatives.We are looking for a driven individual with strong consulting skills, a SQL programming background to manage robust data pipelines and experience with cloud computing & modern data warehousing environments. This hybrid technical management role will include collaborating with business disciplines, IT and external 3rd parties to bring in new data engineering technologies, build and manage data processing frameworks, and help deploy analytics reports & models to production.CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience Required4-year degree

from an accredited university in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or similar quantitative disciplineTwo or more years of progressive experience in data management, analytics, data warehousing, or data scienceStrong background in SQL for data analysis and new dataset developmentEducation and Experience PreferredMS or MBA

from an accredited university in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or similar quantitative disciplineCloud Data & Project Management Certification or backgroundExperience with digital marketing data (owned & paid media) to enable omnichannel customer experience & measurementTechnical SkillsCloud Data Warehouse (Snowflake - preferred, Big Query/Redshift & traditional data warehouses considered)Cloud Data Platform (AWS - preferred, Azure/GCP/Hadoop also considered)Data Analysis/Programming languages (SQL, Python, Spark)Digital & Marketing Tech (Adobe ecosystem preferred)CORE WORK ACTIVITIESDemonstrating and Applying Discipline KnowledgeManage data product development using Snowflake SQL and/or Spark including:

Facilitate data integration & exchanges with paid media data partnersManage customer journey tagging & tracking requirements for digital & email data collectionHands-on design of data products in Snowflake for enabling reporting and analyticsDevelop & automate data engineering jobs using stored procedures & task schedulers

Identify new ways of engineering existing data or acquiring new data sources to support development of customer data productsAct as a bridge between iT and analytics teams facilitating data shares in a timely and accurate mannerCollaborate with peers and Director, Data Ops to develop systems and technologies that promotes automation & monitoringAct as a trusted subject matter expert & partner with analytics teams to make recommendations on data usagePerform user acceptance testing and build quality assurance plans for new data productsManaging Responsibilities with StakeholdersDevelops and maintains effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across the organization.
