SREL is located on the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site in AIKEN, SOUTH CAROLINA. A security clearance will be required. Applicants must be able to pass a background investigation.

Position Summary

This is a highly responsible position involving the development of SREL Research, Education, and Outreach materials and content for distribution to the general public, funding agencies, and other stakeholders through the production of social media, print, and other media sources.

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

Serve as SREL Science Writer to prepare press releases, newsletters, annual reports, educational flyers, and content for local media and stakeholder publications in support of SREL Research, Education, and Outreach Programs; Maintain and create relationships with the press and local stakeholders to establish communication pathways for SREL media.

Percentage of time 50 Duties/Responsibilities

Acquire, Adapt, and Post SREL Research, Education, and Outreach Content for SREL Social Media Platforms.

Percentage of time 35 Duties/Responsibilities

Photograph, create digital content and videos to be used on social media and vlogging platforms as related to SREL research, education, and outreach content.

Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities

Maintain SREL's websites - SREL Herp, Main SREL, and SREL Reprints, and others as needed. Participate in Large Outreach Events for the General Public in Support of SREL Outreach. Coordinate and serve on various related committees and projects.
