Faith and Community Empowerment (FACE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving as a bridge between the Asian-American community and the broader society by fostering private and public collaborations, enhancing the capacities of faith-based organizations, increasing access to resources, and supporting low-income individuals and neighborhood revitalization. Established in 2001, FACE has built a network of over 1000 partners, including collaborations with the White House and Fortune 500 companies.

Mission

Our mission is to advance the participation, contribution, and influence of the Asian American community through faith and community partnerships.

Position Overview

FACE is seeking a full-time salaried Grant Writer. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multitask team environment. The Grant Writer will report directly to the Director of Operations and will submit regular reports for review by the President & CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Writing: Write and submit grant proposals efficiently and effectively.

Program Reporting: Collaborate with program staff to complete necessary programmatic reporting of outcomes for funders.

Financial Reporting: Work with the accounting team to complete financial reporting and audits for funders.

Cross-Departmental Participation: Participate in cross-departmental and organization-wide events and activities.

Communication: Communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Research: Conduct targeted research on private and government funding sources and identify new funding opportunities aligned with FACE’s priorities.

Proposal Development: Collaborate with program staff to create compelling and accurate grant proposals.

Correspondence: Write letters of inquiry, grant proposals, progress reports, acknowledgment letters, and other correspondence for prospective funders.

Ancillary Materials: Gather and prepare all necessary materials to accompany grants (financial data, bios, required forms, etc.).

Goal Development: Work with management and program staff to develop proposal/program goals and track success ratios.

Conference Attendance: Attend bidder’s conferences as needed.

Trend Monitoring: Monitor trends and opportunities for grant development.

Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grant activities, proposals, and reporting requirements using grant management software.

Donor Cultivation: Assist in cultivating relationships with existing and potential donors through effective communication and stewardship activities.

Compliance: Ensure all grant activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies.

Training and Development: Provide training and support to staff on grant writing best practices and funder requirements.

Impact Evaluation: Assist in the evaluation of program impact and effectiveness to inform future grant proposals and reporting.

Networking: Build and maintain relationships with funding organizations, partners, and stakeholders to enhance funding opportunities.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of grant writing experience.

Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Excel) and Canva (or the ability to learn new software quickly).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills necessary for effective collaboration.

Ability to manage shifting demands and perform duties of a similar nature or level as required.

High degree of attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Problem-solving skills and punctuality.

Preferred: Experience in non-profit, government, or community development organizations.

Working Conditions

Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings.

Must be able to travel for meetings, conferences, and site visits.

Requires frequent use of computers and the ability to review detailed documents.

Physical ability to lift and move up to 25-30 pounds.

Travel: Must be able to travel to events and community meetings. Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
