Markel, a Fortune 300 Company, is seeking a Product Marketing Specialist to join the Markel Specialty (an insurance division of Markel Corporation) Marketing team. This candidate will join an experienced and entrepreneurial group of professionals with responsibilities that directly impact and support growth goals and business objectives through brand awareness/promotion, digital marketing, product promotion, and external communications/public relations functions. A core focus of this role is providing direct support for the product line leadership team as well as underwriting, business development, and regional teams for our professional liability product offerings. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in marketing, communications, design, or similar role along with knowledge or related work experience in the insurance industry.

What you'll be doing:

Serve as marketing point-of-contact for professional liability product line leadership team along with supporting underwriting, and business development.Work with leadership to understand and document the business goals and objectives, targeted growth areas, distribution strategy, etc. to develop, implement and execute marketing plans and campaigns for professional liability products and services that support the identified business goals/objective on time and within budgetDevelop a deep knowledge/understanding of professional liability products along with a broad disciplinary knowledge and awareness of related areas.Serve as a content owner by creating, updating, and editing marketing collateral and content (both digital and print) regularly for assigned product lines or area/scope across various systems/database repositories through a detailed inventory and audit process.Manage projects and participate in structured assignments of diverse scope and consistently deliver high quality work on time and within budget.Track, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and performance of marketing activities and campaignsConduct market research to build awareness on the latest insurance products, services, regulations, and industry trends to identify opportunities, customer needs, preferences, and trends that may be beneficial to Markel.Effectively build relationships with key stakeholders across the business.Collaborate with underwriters to assess marketing needs, establish product line value propositions, highlight Markel's competitive advantages, identify opportunities/improve processes, and create impactful marketing campaigns.Analyze data/trends and adjust plan as needed.Research and inform the business of competitor/industry practices.Collaborate with shared services (i.e. claims and loss control).Provide support and direction on product-specific conference planning and help to identify new opportunities where needed.Complete assigned recurring tasks on time and with quality expectedDevelop strong collaboration with team members/peers, sharing creative and innovative approaches to support all facets of marketing as needed, including brand management/awareness, event marketing, direct marketing, email, web, social media, etc.What we're looking for:

Bachelor's Degree 2-4 years of experience in marketing, consulting, or similar creative/problem-solving environment required Insurance industry experience preferredStrong written and verbal communications skillsHigh degree of self-motivation and the ability to work effectively both independently with senior leaders and as part of a teamStrong organization and time management skills with the ability to manage projects and prioritize workloadProficient in Microsoft Office suiteAdobe design programs experience is a plus.Who we are:
