This position supports the Employee Change Management and Communications teams to help generate awareness, understanding, acceptance, and commitment to change related and other company-wide programs and initiatives among all key stakeholders.

This role requires these strengths in both ability and willingness: interpersonal communications skills, working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, curiosity and desire to learn, managing details, performing routine tasks as well as coordinating strategic projects.

Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of communications and customer engagement for the Technology function and its change initiatives, tracking effectiveness, gathering feedback, and modifying approaches as required.
  • Design and implement process and metrics to monitor communications and change management effectiveness, identifying continuous improvement actions where appropriate.
  • Work with Communications and Organizational Change Management teams across the business as necessary, to ensure change management strategies and deliverables align with enterprise level goals, standards and plans.
  • Support the Technology function's employee engagement and culture change activities.
  • Create key change management deliverables (e.g. strategy, change impact analysis, communications narratives, and employee communications plans) and execute the deliverables within these plans using a structured methodology.
  • Support impact assessments to ensure changes in processes, systems, technology and tools align with organizational structures and cultures.
  • Evaluate and ensure business and user readiness. Work with teams to mitigate any identified gaps, taking into consideration IT deployment priorities, data migration plans, technology capability deployments and local business area change activities.
  • Provide support to partners across Markel to help them and their teams through technology driven transition to new ways of working.
  • Work with teams to support training and knowledge needs analysis; build training and knowledge strategy and plan and support the design and delivery of training programs.


Work Experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading and communicating technology-enabled change, including Microsoft 365
  • 5+ years team leadership & management either directly or within a matrix framework

Experience of the insurance industry a plus

Skill Sets
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal and active listening) combined with the ability to create, deliver and iterate communications strategies for technology-enabled change.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages in a compelling way, particularly related to the adoption of new technology and/or ways of working, to a variety of audiences using different media.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing organizational change across people, process and technology projects across multiple geographical locations, using a structured change management approach.
  • A solid understanding of how people experience change and how to support them through adoption of new ways of working and culture change.
  • Excellent collaborator, with proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels across the organization
  • A flexible, engaging agent of change who leads by example
  • Understanding of Agile practices


Education

Bachelor's degree in related field and equivalent work experience.

Certification

Communications accreditations / PROSCI certification or equivalent preferred.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S., and not require sponsorship now or in the future.
