Zen Renovation is a place for interior designers who want to do what you love.ABOUT USWe are a design-build general contracting firm serving clients in the DC/MD markets. Our services include kitchen, bathroom, and basement renovations. We have 2 design studios in Takoma Park and on Capitol Hill showcasing our kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, hardware, and countertop offerings. The Studio will be a space for our design team including architects and designers to collaborate with our clients to create beautiful and inspiring home environments.ABOUT THE POSITIONLead client engagements for renovations.Visit client sites to take measurements and discuss design concepts with clients.Conceptualize and develop measured drawings in Chief Architect.Create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and fixturesPresent design concepts and take detailed notes to address customer requestsDevelop highly detailed elevations.Source materials and products included in plansAssist clients in selecting finishes including cabintry, countertops, vanities, sink, tile, plumbing fixtures, accessories and paint colors.Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with clients and other stakeholders (internal and external)Collaborate with various team members including Principals, other designers and architects, and construction team.ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCEBachelor's or Masters degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related fieldCertifications related to Interior Design an assetProfiicent in Chief Architect or be tech-savvy enough to learn quickly.NKBA Certification an asset5+ years of experience in design.Strong design portfolioStrong competency in interior design specifications, calculations, industry standards, and application of building codesDemonstrated understanding of construction practices, methodologies, and detailingHighly developed emotional intelligenceExcellent time and project management skillsAdvanced communication skillsAdvanced problem solving and decision-making skillsExcellent organizational skillExcellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships with clients and maintain clear communication through a project's completion as a technical expertStrong self-motivation and ability to set priorities, manage competing demands and achieve long term goals and visionsAbility to work on a diverse team, while being respectful and fostering an openness to diverse schools of thought, backgrounds, and processesAbility to think strategically and plan ahead for possible roadblocksEntrepreneurial spirit, ability to work independently, and solve problems creativelyProactive, with a high degree of self-initiativeTo apply: Send cover letter and resume. All team members receive 4 weeks of paid vacation, fully company- paid medical, dental and vision insurance, and a retirement plan with company match. Designers must be located in the DMV with the majority of time spent in the design studios in both Takoma Park and Capitol Hill.
