The Promotions Director is a key member of the Urban One team, working directly with Marketing, on strategic/creative development and management of revenue-generating marketing solutions and partnerships for existing and prospective clients with the Sales, Promotions and Digital departments. This position will work with Programming to develop winning promotional campaigns to drive ratings. The Promotions Director will develop and maintain strong community relationships. This is an active position and may require evenings and weekends on-site at community events.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure synergy between all on-air, online, and promotional initiativesMaintain station brand Promotions Calendar for On-Air and Event CampaignsSecure prizing and oversee the planning of weekly station contesting plans in conjunctionwith Sales, Digital, and ProgrammingEvent Production: Assist with creation, coordination, and execution of Station events andPromotions throughout the calendar yearDevelop and execute community relations partnerships to ensure the brands are being maximizedOversee execution of station brand campaigns in coordination with Digital, Video,Programming, and SalesEnsure all reporting staff has the necessary skills to perform their assigned JobResponsibilities at the highest level of professionalism (consistently appropriate) andcompetence (effective and efficient) on an ongoing basisRecruit, develop, and train team members and staff continuously, responsible for newpromotion team employee trainingRecruit, develop, and teach new coordinators and part time promotion team membersAdministration: Assigns and manages projects, and maintains administrative tasks for thePromotions team, to include duties around event space clearances/set-up, scheduling, routine departmental summaries/reporting and other duties as required for the departmentKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Must be at least 21 years of ageMust have a valid driver's license and clean driving recordPresent a positive and professional attitude and presence at all station eventsThe ability to multitask and prioritize job responsibilities under pressure in a non-traditional schedule fast-paced live media environment is aHigh-level written and verbal communication skills, and in particular the ability tocommunicate around multiple creative projects in a time-sensitive mannerStrong attention to detail and solid organizational and project management skillsAble to demonstrate big picture thinking as well as an ability to manage details promotions, brand marketing, digital marketing and how it relates to radio a must.Complies with Network and Urban One's mandatory training and adheres to related course deadlinesDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate and direct a team to include but not limited to:

Provide regular constructive feedbackResolve issues/conflicts with diplomacy in a timely mannerProvide ongoing guidance and support for growth and developmentDeploy effective coaching skillsPractical understanding of anti-harassment and discrimination lawsAbility to effectively administer performance reviews, and corrective action plans as appropriate.Ensure team (s) attend mandatory department and/or mandatory company training (s) as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BA Degree in Broadcasting/Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field; Knowledge and/or experience in a radio/TV, and/or agency environment is strongly preferred. 3 years of related event/promotion experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Multi-cultural marketing/communications experience is a plus.
