Job Duties

This position is responsible for advancing the User Experience and Content Strategy (UX-CS) team's mission and vision by providing our customers, users, and audiences with usable products through efficient oversight of multiple component disciplines.

This position is a member of the Application Development and Support unit. The primary objective of this unit within Information Technology Unit (ITU) is to deliver quality Application Development and Support and Web services through effective systems architecting and planning, project initiation, business analysis, requirements definition, systems design, systems development, systems implementation, on-going maintenance and enhancement, effective problem identification and resolution, production service and support, and systems administration support tasks to ensure computer applications will assist Department of Corrections (DOC) in achieving its day-to-day mission.

Minimum Qualifications

Considerable knowledge, skills, abilities, and competency in user experience design. A portfolio or organized work samples showing prior work is required.• Knowledge, skills, abilities, and competency in information architecture• Knowledge, skills, abilities, and competency in usability testing• Basic knowledge of website development• Basic knowledge of visual design• Knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies in more than one component of Adobe Creative Cloudo Basic knowledge of content strategy and copywritingo Considerable knowledge, skills, abilities, and competency in Print Designo Knowledge and competency in Adobe XD, Balsamiq• Some prior creative project or website development management experience• Some experience in user experience design• Considerable experience in at least two and significant experience in at least one of the following:o Visual Design (website design, mobile design, print design, typography)o Usability Testing (A/B testing, accessibility testing and compliance)o Content Strategy (content audits, content governance, copy editing)o Information Architecture (wireframes, sitemaps, card sorting)o Front End Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
