Our client, a well known fashion client in the Junior's category is looking for an Assistant Designer to join their team Full Time.
This position is fully on-site in Commerce, CA / M-F schedule.
In this position you will be focusing on Junior's Social Dresses category. In this role, you will work closely with the design team to assist in all aspects of the design process, from concept development to final production. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about fashion design and looking to gain hands-on experience in the industry.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the design team to develop new concepts and ideas for seasonal collections.• Assist in creating detailed technical sketches using computer-aided design (CAD) software.• Conduct research on current trends, fabrics, colors, and prints relevant to the target market.• Participate in fabric sourcing activities by assisting with vendor communication and sample evaluations.• Support sample fittings by preparing garments, taking notes on fit adjustments, and maintaining accurate records.• Aid in managing product development timelines by coordinating with cross-functional teams such as production, merchandising, and sourcing.• Assist in maintaining an organized archive of fabrics swatches, trims samples, sketches etc., ensuring easy accessibility for future reference.• Stay updated on industry trends through regular trend analysis research.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Fashion Design or related field• Proficient knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Adobe Illustrator or similar programs• Strong sketching abilities combined with a keen eye for detail• Excellent understanding of garment construction techniques• Knowledge of fabric types, prints, and color theory• Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlines• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams• A passion for fashion and a strong sense of personal style
