The Rakuten Advertising Creative department creates, supports, collaborates, invents, and advises. We use our data, experience, and creative smarts to make meaningful connections throughout all touchpoints of our brand. We are seeking an Art Director who brings positive energy to our growing environment. A person who works equally as well independently or collaborating with a team. A strategic and creative storyteller that is detail-oriented and delivers high-quality work in a timely manner that exceeds expectations.

Your tasks

Work collaboratively across departments on all assigned projects on a global scale. Attend project kick-off meetings, serving as an expert on the brand, creative strategy, design and concepting. You'll be expected to take notes based on the creative brief discussed, ask clarifying questions to understand the assignment and any specific creative requests, and confirm your role on the project. On a daily basis, you'll present work internally to the creative leader or stakeholders, interpreting feedback and adjusting design accordingly while ensuring it's on strategy, and be able to prepare print and digital assets for production.

Superpowers required

Experience:3+ years of experience as an art director or designer, preferably in an agency or in-house creative department.An impressive online portfolio showcasing a variety of projects, with your roles and responsibilities clearly stated.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Figma, and motion graphics.Must have a strong and sophisticated sense of design style, with excellent skills in art direction, storytelling, brand-building, creative strategy, typography, composition, and digital and print best practices.The ability to conceptualize, develop, plan, create, and deliver a creative vision for all initiatives including websites, emails, social, print collateral, events, and other channels.Complexity & Problem Solving:

Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.Able to accept constructive feedback and apply to the work with enthusiasm and positivity.Knowledge & Application:

Participates in gathering information with marketing, sales, and other departments to support company-wide creative objectives.Contributes to the development of company objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.Provides creative leadership on issues relevant to technical graphic design.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational and time management skills.Acute attention to detail.Able to communicate clearly, thoroughly, and succinctly both verbally and written while inspiring confidence from stakeholders.Bonus points for:

Solid understanding of UI/UXVideo editing, motion-graphic, and video-specific story-telling experienceExperience and understanding of existing and emerging digital platformsSoftware knowledge of Figma and or CerosB2B experience
