THE ROLE: RETENTION MARKETING MANAGER

The Retention Marketing Manager plays an essential role in driving e-commerce growth through owned media channels, with a specific focus on campaign creation across email, SMS, blog and partnerships. Working closely with the Director of Growth Marketing, they will ideate, plan and execute email and SMS campaigns to inform, educate and entertain new and existing customers with the continual goal of increasing AOV, repeat purchase and category exposure. With a keen eye on trends, competitors, preeminent DTC brand communication and our target consumers, they will manage the creation of engaging and relevant blog content that drives organic reach and cements our status as a leader in grooming. Leveraging experience as a campaign architect, they will translate marketing strategy into captivating promotions and editorial content that bring the brand to life across different channels. They will manage a collective of agencies, partners and freelancers to execute their creative vision. And with an analytical and results-oriented approach to retention, they will always ladder creative executions to the overall quarterly and annual goals of the growth marketing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Email/SMS

Manage the execution of email and SMS campaigns through automation softwareDrive content that informs, educates and inspires new and existing customers, with the continual goal of increasing key metrics like AOV, Repeat Purchase and Product SubscriptionsLeverage segmentation to identify areas of opportunity within the key cohorts of one-time buyers, account holders and subscribersReview former email/SMS marketing campaigns and assess both strong and weak points in pursuit of content and delivery optimizationCreate a comprehensive calendar, plotting and executing campaigns in a timely mannerManage engaging, well-written copy that is free from mistakes and elevates brand tone and perceptionCollaborate with graphic designers to improve the appearance layout of outputsMonitor and report on the utility of each marketing campaignStay up to date with email best practices and technologies by attending webinars, thorough research, etc.Conduct market research to better understand consumer behaviors, content trends and promotion typesSEO Management & Blog Management

Manage well-written, relevant and lead generating blogs for our Grooming Guide to increase web presence and elevate brand role.Actively manage and promote our blog, and pitch articles to relevant third-party platformsIdentify and manage a team of copywriters to execute creative and strategic visionManage SEO specialists to increase the productivity of blog posts in driving traffic, both organically and within paid/boosted paid media adsIdentifying near and long-term opportunities to increase organic search results through on-site and metacopyPartnerships

Experience translating strategy into partner identification and recruitment, developing campaigns that drive incrementality to both brandsManage relationships with customers and vendors to build the brand and the business.Champion and manage new projects to create stronger partnerships.Build the organizational network by through targeted outreach and strong project planning.Liaise with partners to solve issues, communicate needs and create synergy.Analyze and report on partner initiatives, forecast for strategic changes and report on key metrics.THE CANDIDATE:

Candidates must be passionate, organized, and love developing personal care, grooming, or skin care products. This person is highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills. While this candidate loves timelines and getting organized, this person has a remarkable ability to remain calm and flexible in the fast-paced, changing world of product development in a high growth environment. The ideal candidate will be an intelligent team player - someone approachable with a positive, innovative and professional attitude who works smarter, not harder and takes on a "sleeves-rolled-up" and a "can-do" attitude when faced with challenges. A true ambassador for EMJ, both internally and externally.

CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED:

5+ years of digital marketing experience with direct-to-consumer brands and products with a proven track record in managing a customer retention program.5+ years in email, lifecycle, loyalty, content or engagement marketing.4+ years of partnership management experience2+ years in SMS marketingApproaches retention as a program manager who understands how each channel contributes to the overall user experience, consumer lifecycle and revenue goalsHands on experience with email and SMS marketing/automation softwareExperience crafting and working within growth marketing frameworks, retention, lead nurture campaigns, and retention strategies.Passion for email marketing, blog creation, and tracking best practices, industry trends, and testing the newest strategies.Strong proficiency in digital trends, omni-channel marketing, integrated campaigns and best practices.Strong business acumen with an ability to think strategically, collaboratively and experiment in innovative ways.

HOURS: Full Time, Exempt, Salaried
