JOB SUMMARYThe Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing strategic internal and external communications that effectively describe and promote the organization, its events, and services.RESPONSIBILITIESContent CreationDraft articles, editorials, and internal and external communicationsDevelop strategic messaging for different audiencesWrite and develop content for Chamber website, newsletters, and press releasesSocial Media ManagementManage social media accountsEngage Members in social mediaCreate engaging social media contentMembership SupportAssist with Member retention and outreachEvent MarketingMarket all events in a timely manner through e-blasts, social media, online platforms, and press releasesCommunicate with all event partners, media, and venuesOperation ConnectManage all communication for the Operation Connect programAdditional ResponsibilitiesAttend all staff meetings and eventsSupport and attend Chamber events, activities, and functionsOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSEssentialProficient knowledge of computer systems, specifically in Microsoft Office, Canva, MailChimp, Hootsuite, or similarExceptional writing skillsExceptional customer service skillsAbility to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesProven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentStrong verbal, non-verbal, and listening communication skills with internal and external partnersAbility to exercise discretion concerning privileged or confidential informationAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work flexible hours in support of scheduled eventsMust have a valid state driver's license and reliable transportation. The starting salary for this position is $23.00 per hour to $25.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.This position is qualified for additional commissions and annual performance-based wage increases and bonuses. North San Diego Business Chamber also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
