POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our marketing department's vision is to be viewed as a premier marketing resource and example within the floral and greenhouse industries. The Graphic Designer will have the exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects that strengthen and enhance the company's brands. The Graphic Designer reports to the Director of Business Development, and projects may include general layout and design, photoshop for catalogs, brand development support, sales enablement, design for social media, product collateral, trend boards, tradeshow support, as well as internal communications as needed. Successful candidates will demonstrate a willingness to receive feedback and adjust work as needed, a problem-solving mindset, the ability to think from ideation through concept development, refinement, and execution, and the ability to collaborate and feel comfortable communicating ideas to the department.

JOB DUTIES:Demonstrates a deep understanding of design principles, applying them independently in concept development, color theory, typography, and layoutResponsible for typography and visual composition for all advertising materials and presentationsTakes the lead on Adobe Photoshop editing tasks, including advanced techniques like modifying hard goods, complex color correction, intricate plant combinations, and lifestyle imageryInitiates original designs, art, lettering, and illustrations for various print materials and marketing collateral, including brochures, posters, business cards, tags, and packaging, with a focus on creativity and innovationIndependently prepares all marketing collateral for printing or digital distribution with precision and efficiencyLeads the production of high-quality mockupsContributes to the optimization of file storage and organizationCollaborates with the ESC marketing team and ESC initiative directors, offering creative input and executing visual direction for branded print, digital assets, and social mediaDemonstrates agility in amending designs based on feedback and finding balanced resolutionsEstablishes strong connections between design elements and marketing copy to enhance product appealDemonstrates proficiency in corporate market research methods, trend analysis, and brand differentiation strategiesCreates compelling icons, charts, and infographics to effectively communicate key messages, demonstrating creativity and clarityAttends customer and vendor meetings or trials to gain deeper insights into business needs and requirements, ensuring clear comprehension and alignment with project objectivesDemonstrates initiative and adaptability by willingly taking on additional responsibilities and projects as required, such as creating sample mock-ups, providing support during photoshoots, contributing to website designs, etc.Assisting with general Marketing department duties such as preparing for events and shows, presentation developmentAll other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS and education requirements:

Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field or equivalent experience3+ years of experience in Graphic Design (recent grads are encouraged to apply with a student portfolio)3+ years of experience with Adobe Creative SuiteFamiliarity with the horticulture industry is a plusPortfolio that demonstrates high quality and content-focused design work, especially for branded projects and packaging design within retail spaceAbility to take and follow directions, while also initiating and driving ideas and improvementsAbility to work in a creative, fast-paced environmentIntermediate use of typography, color theory, design, and layout, requiring little oversightKnowledge of the printing process, including on-demand, 4-color process, press work, and digital productionAbility to maintain vendor and in-house client relations, with proper documentation of projects and efficient archives of art filesKnowledge and experience with brand identity application in graphicsFlexibility to adapt to changing prioritiesCreative and innovative thinkerIntermediate knowledge of design software like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as experience in PowerPoint and Excel a plusStrong project and time management skillsWork cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectivenessEstablish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organizationProvide exceptional service to partners and requestors, through collaboration, listening, problem-solving skills, and follow throughpHYSICAL Environment & Requi
