Estes Industries, the world leader in model rocketry, is looking for a highly skilled graphic designer to join their award-winning art team and contribute outstanding creative ideas and design. The art team is responsible for all forward-facing media that represents the company which include but are not limited to, packaging, product instructions, 3D product renders, marketing collateral, social media/website collateral and support and many other projects. Job Description
The
Graphic Designer I
takes direction from the Creative Director and/or Senior Designer to convert written or spoken ideas into seamless images, layouts, or other designs. The Graphic Designer I works with minimal supervision and can balance multiple projects at once.
Essential Functions
Works with a wide range of software including Adobe CC and Maxon Cinema 4dCreates eye catching visual concepts that include product renders, deco, product packaging, web materials, social media art, and moreCreates and designs various materials for print and digital collateralEnsure projects are completed on schedule with the highest qualitySupport creative direction for the company while adhering to brand guidelinesPrioritizes and manages multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictionsPerform retouching and manipulation of imagesMaintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; and participating in professional societiesContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededCompetencies
3+ years of experience in graphic designBachelors' degree in fine arts, design, or related field. 5+ years of experience with an exceptional portfolio in graphic design will be considered in lieu of degree.Strong knowledge of graphic design fundamentalsStrong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign requiredKnowledge of Cinema 4d software preferredExcellent typography skills requiredStrong layout and composition skills requiredStrong knowledge of MAC OS requiredPhotography/Video Editing/Motion Graphic software knowledge preferredPackaging design experience preferredFamiliarity with HTML and CSS preferredKnowledge of MS office preferredExcellent eye for detail a mustCreative and flexible a mustStrong analytical skillsDeadline-orientedTime-management skillsCommunication skillsAble to handle rejection and constructive criticismSalary:
$55,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
