Amazon MGM Studios is the home for talent, creating and producing Original films and television series for a global audience. Original series premiere exclusively on Prime Video, which is available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Amazon MGM Studios also produces and acquires Original movies for theatrical release and exclusively for Prime Video, in addition to producing Original content for Freevee, Amazon’s premium free streaming service.

We are hiring for a Senior Marketing Manager to develop the title specific go-to-market campaigns for Amazon MGM Studios’ Original Movies. As a film marketing expert, you will not only help shape the fundamental strategy alongside the Head of Film Marketing but also work in partnership with functional experts across disciplines to drive the development of tactics across channels that successfully launch and sustain engagement for Amazon MGM Studios’ Originals. In this role you will be lead the collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including serving as a point of contact on the holistic campaign, sell-through of strategy and related activity and relationship management.

Key job responsibilities

Drive overall 360 marketing campaign strategy and planning for consumer campaigns in support of Amazon MGM Studios Original Movies, including creation of goals, defining audiences, positioning, hooks, campaign roadmaps and the overall communication and engagement strategy.

Help support and execute the title specific strategy across Original Amazon MGM Movies marketing campaigns and partner with functional experts across disciplines (e.g. creative, social, influencer, media, partnerships, events, PR, O&O, legal, etc) to develop materials and tactics that deliver on the title’s marketing strategy.

Act as a campaign leader who inspires and empowers functional experts across disciplines to deliver bar-raising, best in class ideas/tactics at a global scale and which generate outsized earned media opportunity.

Drive strategic alignment across each group of stakeholders, including title level team, internal leadership, and external filmmakers and producers. This includes developing and aligning on the campaign brief, campaign approach, marketing plan and all other cross-channel or holistic campaign conversations. Own the creation of these materials.

Cultivate positive relationships with talent, executive producers (EP), external studios and other relevant external stakeholders. Be a trusted daily contact to EPs on holistic campaign activity and developments (co-own the relationship to EPs when creative directors are assigned).

Work collaboratively with international marketing teams and local stakeholders to ensure overall go-to-market plans are successful globally. This includes leading conversations and serving as main contact for titles, ensuring that international teams have the brief, assets, ideas, etc. to deliver on-strategy plans for their markets.

Bring big ideas to the table, obtain buy-in and effectively and efficiently implement ideas at scale.

Partner with campaign managers, the creative team, SMEs, and finance and operations for budget allocations that appropriately fund asset capture and creation, and channel tactics in support of campaign strategy.

As requested, support campaign managers, operations and cross-functional teams to drive continuous process improvement and define new mechanisms that help optimize for a nimble and effective campaign planning playbook.

Monitor performance metrics against goals regularly to understand effectiveness of strategy and creative, making recommendations for campaign optimizations.

A day in the life

While every day is an exciting set of new opportunities, a typical day in the life as a Senior Marketing Manager revolves around supporting multiple film launches at a time. This can include leading productive status meetings with all cross-functional peers to collectively shape and design bespoke film launches based off of the core strategy you have developed, as well as putting marketing plans into execution and overseeing on-going activity surrounding the global release of a film. Additionally, the Senior Marketing Manager should be prepared to design presentations to give internally to senior leadership at key milestones on campaign development and progress, while communicating externally to filmmakers and producers on an ongoing basis to facilitate relationships and ensure alignment across the campaign. Senior Marketing Managers are successful and proven leaders, who are able to adapt to market conditions and are able to synthesize multiple points of input to drive clarity, alignment and excitement around winning strategic vision.

Basic Qualifications

6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

7+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience

Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages

Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

Entertainment marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners

Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

Film marketing experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
