3D Artist Generalist (Contractor)

Founded in 2017, Spatial unlocks the full potential of immersive technology to enhance human experience in real world environments. Spatial liberates sound design from linear and channel-based audio, allowing people to do things with immersive sound that have never been done before. Spatial is also looking to the future, where the same intricate and extensive principles of sound for physical spaces can be applied to visual technologies enabling the creation of the ultimate experience simulations.

Spatial's team and demo locations are located in Scottsdale, AZ and partner sites around the US. Led by experienced leaders from Apple, Nest and Pluto TV and backed by DBL Partners, BITKRAFT Ventures, National Geographic Society, The Kraft Group, Marquee Sports Holdings, WS Development and others, Spatial is poised to reimagine immersive human experiences.

We are looking for a talented and experienced contract 3D artist who applies principles of lighting, composition, and color theory to craft visually captivating scenes in Epic's Unreal Engine. You operate across diverse industries such as gaming, entertainment, advertising, and architectural visualization, adeptly tailoring their skills to project needs. Collaborating closely with the head of creative, you enhance the visual and interactive aspects of projects, ensuring assets are optimized for performance and quality within a pipeline designed to support the final USDZ format on visionOS.

This position is based in Scottsdale, Arizona (preferred); however, remote work will be considered for the right candidate.What You'll Do:3D Asset Development: Model new assets & texture and rig various existing or newly created 3D assets using Blender to create realistic AR/VR environments.Environment Layout: Design and develop interactive experiences and virtual environments using Unreal Engine.Asset Export: Create efficient workflows for designing, modeling, and animating in Blender and exporting optimized 3D assets into USDZ format for Apple Vision Pro.Collaboration: Work closely with the head of creative to bring immersive environments to life.Optimization: Optimize 3D assets for performance and usability, ensuring they run smoothly on Apple Vision Pro.What You'll Need:

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in 3D modeling, texturing, and basic animation.Skillset: Strong understanding of modeling, texturing, animation, rigging, and instancing pipelines.Software Proficiency: Deep expertise in Blender (or other digital content creation tools) and Unreal Engine.Portfolio: A demonstrated portfolio showcasing 3D modeling and Unreal Engine projects.Additional Skills: Experience with Shader material, Shader Graph, Apple RealityKit, Apple Reality Composer Pro, and Apple Vision Pro is a plus.Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve content and asset performance bottlenecks through investigation and optimization.Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with USD workflows and pipelines, particularly USDZ final format supported by Apple devices.Work Ethic: Task-driven, self-motivated, proactive, and able to work well under deadlines.Passion: A strong interest or passion for creating immersive experiences for the Apple Vision Pro.Characteristics of Success at Spatial:
