Job TitleGraphic Designer

Nature of Work

Designs and produces printed and online brochures, magazines, publications, advertisements and other informational and marketing material for offices, departments and schools at Wayne State College and the Wayne State Foundation. Conceptualizes design layout of finished art and text for reproduction and coordinates print timeline and final production of finished product with print vendors. Oversees the bidding and award process for project needs.

Examples of Work Performed

1. Design and produce printed and online brochures, magazines, publications, advertisements and other informational and marketing material for offices, departments, schools, programs, and special events for Wayne State College and the Wayne State Foundation.2. Maintain production schedules and timelines of multiple projects at the same time.3. Design visual projects such as banners, posters, background displays and photo backdrops.4. Work with college personnel in the planning and production of above items.5. Write bid specifications and secure bids when required for printing projects and serve as liaison with printing company representatives and other vendors regarding publication projects.

Required Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in art, commercial art, communications, or related field and one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications• Graphic design experience, including publication production, and proficiency with Adobe suite of software, including InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator.• Current technological skills related to MS Office products (Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher).• Layout and design skills are essential, as well as ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.• Three to five years of experience preferred.

Salary InformationCompetitive, commensurate with qualifications & experience. Attractive & comprehensive fringe benefit package. Annual salary range is $45,841-$57,301.
